About the company
We are seeking a creative ingredient of a Chocolate Chef to join our client’s team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about working with chocolate in various forms, developing unique recipes, and producing high-quality products. You will be responsible for crafting chocolates, truffles, ganaches, pralines, and other confections while maintaining high standards of taste, presentation, and hygiene.

Responsibilities
Chocolate Production: Prepare and create artisanal chocolates, truffles, pralines, bars, and other chocolate-based items.
Recipe Development: Innovate and experiment with new flavors, textures, and designs for seasonal products or special collections.
Moulding and Tempering: Handle chocolate tempering and moulding techniques to ensure consistent texture and shine.
Decorating and Packaging: Design elegant finishes for chocolate products and oversee proper packaging for presentation and shelf-life.
Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels of chocolate and other ingredients, ensuring timely orders and minimizing wastage.

Requirements
A degree or certification in Culinary Arts, Pastry, or Confectionery is preferred.
Specialized training in chocolate making is a plus
3 years as a Chocolate Chef or Chocolatier in a bakery, restaurant, or chocolate production environment.
Technical Skills: Expertise in tempering, moulding, and enrobing chocolate.
Familiarity with ganaches, pralines, truffles, and other confections.
Creativity: Strong ability to innovate and develop new chocolate recipes and designs.
Attention to Detail: Excellent eye for presentation, flavor balancing, and texture refinement.
Knowledge of Ingredients: Strong understanding of chocolate varieties, flavor combinations, and shelf-life considerations.
Hygiene & Safety: In-depth knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
Physical Stamina: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and stand for long periods.

Perform field inspections, analyze progress, and report findings,maintain quality control throughout the project.

Summary

CFK Africa seeks an experienced healthcare professional to join our Board of Directors which represents a diverse group of professional from across Kenya and the United States. We are currently looking for a member with a background in clinical medicine to enhance our healthcare service provision in some of Kenya’s most underserved communities. Board Members benefit from meaningful service, and access to a large network of global leaders and advisors.

Time Commitment and Term of Office

Directors must be able to dedicate amble time to advise in their area of expertise and participate in broader decision-making. The time commitment is 1-5 hours monthly and includes quarterly board meetings that are usually three hours in duration. Our board is committed to working collaboratively across Kenya and the United States. As such, meetings are primarily virtual with one in-person meeting per year. Kenyan Directors are expected to attend community events in Kibera.

Directors are appointed for an initial term of three years and can be re-elected for subsequent terms.

• 20+ years of experience as a registered medical practitioner with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council

• Understanding of Kenyan healthcare systems including medical audits, continuing medical education, and the health insurance system

• 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in the medical field

• Prior board experience with a CBO, NGO, or private enterprise

• Proven ability to build relationships with stakeholders and policy makers
