Stocks To Watch - 21 NOV 2024

Tata Power: The company entered into a strategic partnership with Druk Green Power Corpo, a subsidiary of Druk Holding and Investments Ltd., the sole generation utility of Bhutan, to collaborate and develop at least 5,000 MW of clean energy generation capacity in Bhutan.

PSP Projects: The company executed a share purchase agreement between promoter Prahaladbhai S. Patel and Adani Infra, whereby Adani Infra will be acquiring up to a 30.07% stake from the promoter for Rs 685 crore. Adani Infra makes an open offer for the acquisition of up to 1 crore shares at Rs 642.06 per share.

NLC India: The company is to make an investment of up to Rs 3,720 crore for various renewable projects in the arm, subject to compliance with DIPAM guidelines and necessary approvals of the Ministry of Commerce and other departments as may be required.

JSW Steel: The company declared as the preferred bidder for the Codli mineral block in Goa. The projected iron ore resources are at 48.5 million tonnes, in addition to 2.7 million tonnes of ore in dumps.

Aegis Logistics: The company’s arm, Aegis Vopak Terminals, has filed a draft red herring prospectus with the Securities and Exchange Board of India for an initial public offering. The IPO consists of a fresh issue of Rs 3,500 crore.

Bajaj Auto: The RBI disposed of the FEMA matter over KTM investment on payment of Rs 2.2 crore compounding amount. The compounding amount imposed in the case of the inadvertent ODI-FDI structure over the company's investment in KTM in 2012.

Zee Entertainment: Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Punit Goenka has resigned from the position of Managing Director and was appointed as CEO—Key Managerial Personnel of the Company.

ITI: The company received a contract worth Rs 95 crore from the Directorate of Geology and Mining, Government of Uttarakhand, for the Mining Digital Transformation and Surveillance System in Uttarakhand.

Reliance Power: The company received a show-cause notice from Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd. for allegedly submitting a fake bank guarantee. According to SECI, a subsidiary of the company provided a bank guarantee purportedly issued by the Manila branch of First Rand Bank. However, First Rand Bank India has confirmed that no such branch exists. SECI stated that this conduct suggests a malafide intent to manipulate the tender's outcome. The show-cause notice demands an explanation from the company as to why criminal proceedings should not be initiated against the company.

Reliance Industries: The company and Disney completed a transaction to form a joint venture for entertainment brands in India. The company invested Rs 11,500 crore in growth capital in the joint venture. The JV will be spearheaded by three Chief Executive Officers. The transaction values of the JV are at Rs 70,352 crore on a post-money basis. The JV is controlled by Reliance and owned 16.34% by the company, 46.82% by Viacom18, and 36.84% by Disney.

GAIL: The company signed a 10-year pact with Abu Dhabi National Oil Company Gas for the delivery of up to 0.52 million metric tons per year of liquefied natural gas.

Prestige Estate: The company acquired 22,135 sq. meters of land worth Rs 292 crore in Mumbai for residential development.

L&T Technology Serivces: The company signed a definitive pact to acquire Silicon Valley-based Intelliswift for $110 million. Through this acquisition, L&T Technology plans to make inroads into adjacent markets of retail and fintech.

Indian Oil Corp: The company reported fire in a Benzene Storage Tank (1,000 KL capacity) at its Gujarat refinery. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. The refinery operations are normal, IOC said.

Welspun Corp: The company's arm Welspun Mauritius Holdings divested 5% stake in Saudi Arabia-based for East Pipes Integrated $58 million.

RVNL: The company emerged as the lowest bidder from South Central Railway for EPC contract worth Rs 295 crore. The contract involves doubling of track between Navipet and Indalvi, including electrification and signaling works.

Ashapuri Gold Ornament: The company entered a pact with Titan for supply of gold jewellery. All orders from August 2024 till July 2026 will be covered under this contract.

Orient Technologies: The company appointed Shrihari Bhat as CEO, effective Jan. 1, 2025.

Indiamart Intermesh: The company arm Tradezeal Online entered a pact to disinvest 26% stake in Shipway Technology to Unicommerce eSolutions. The sale of shares is expected to be completed within 90 business days.

Sagility India: The company's shares will debut on the stock exchanges on Tuesday at an issue price of Rs 30. The Rs 2,106-crore IPO was subscribed times 3.2 times on final day.

Reliance Power: The company’s unit, Rosa Power, has prepaid Rs 485 crore in debt to Varde Partners. The company has now become a zero-debt company after it settled its outstanding debt by payment of Rs 1,318 crore to Varde ahead of the original schedule. The company will pursue growth opportunities in the clean green power sector.

UltraTech Cement: The company's wholly owned subsidiary, UltraTech Cement Middle East Investments Ltd., bought an additional 11.55% stake in UAE-based unit Ras Al Khaimah Co. for White Cement and Construction Materials PSC for $22.02 million.

Hindustan Zinc: The government will exercise the oversubscription option in the offer for sale. The offer for sale included a base offer of 1.25% stake, with a greenshoe option of an additional 1.25%. The floor price has been set at Rs 505 per share.

Rail Vikas Nigam: The company received an order for a rail project worth Rs 180 crore from East Central Railway. The project includes the design, supply, erection, testing and commissioning of a 2x25KV feeder line along the track. It also includes 25KV OHE modification works to meet the 3,000 MT loading target for the up and down line of Garwa Road—Mahadiya Section of Dhanbad Division under E.C. Railway.

SpiceJet: The company obtained an extension of up to three months from the registrar of companies for conducting its annual general meeting for the financial year 2024. The AGM will be held by Dec. 31.

Kalpataru Projects International: The board has approved raising of up to Rs 200 crore via NCDs on a private placement basis. The NCDs will be listed on the wholesale debt market segment of BSE.

Polycab India: The company has emerged as the lowest bidder for the Rs 1,549.6 crore project from Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd. The contract involves development, upgradation, and operation along with maintenance of the middle mile network for Bharat Net.

NTPC: The company approved multiple investments aggregating to Rs 79,738.5 crore. The company sanctioned an investment of Rs 29,344.5 crore for the Telangana Super Thermal Power Project, Phase-II. The public sector undertaking approved an investment of Rs 20,445.69 crore for its Gadarwara Super Thermal Power Project, Stage-II, and Rs 29,947.91 crore funding for its Nabinagar Super Thermal Power Project, Stage II.

Hero MotoCorp: The Splendor maker plans to expand its commercial operations in the UK and Europe from the second half of 2025 with a new electric scooter- the VIDA Z- in tow. That will be followed by high-capacity internal combustion motorcycles. Subsequently, the company plans to expand its range to high-capacity premium internal combustion engine motorcycles. The company appointed Pelpi International as Italy Distributor.

Indian Energy Exchange: The electricity exchange achieved electricity traded volume of 9,642 MU in October, marking a 4% year on year increase. During the month, IEX traded 4.44 lakh renewable energy certificates recording a 105% year on year increase.

Coffee Day Enterprises: Exchanges have suspended regular trading for companies under the insolvency and bankruptcy code effective Tuesday. As a result, these stocks will now be traded only once a week, limited to the first trading day of each week, until further review. The exchanges also announced plans to initiate necessary steps to safeguard stakeholders' interests during this period.

Rail Vikas Nigam: A consortium led by RVNL and also comprising HFCL Ltd. and Aerial Telecom Solutions Pvt., has bagged a project worth Rs 5,008 crore from the BSNL. The state-run firm on Tuesday also said it has also won a construction project worth Rs 613 crore from Rail Infrastructure Development Company (Karnataka) Ltd.

Oil India: The company to form an equal equity joint venture with BPCL for CGD project in Arunachal Pradesh.

Hindustan Zinc: Government to sell up to 2.5% stake through an offer for sale. The offer for sale includes base offer of 1.25% stake, with greenshoe option of additional 1.25%. The floor price has been set at Rs 505 per share, indicating a 9.8% discount to Tuesday's close. The offer will open on Wednesday for retail investors.

Infosys:
The company has collaborated with Southwark Council to launch digital learning platforms for residents, colleges and schools. This initiative aims to provide Southwark residents, colleges, and schools with free access to Infosys’ flagship digital learning platform, Springboard.
