Hello! 🤗🤗
We're in Nara now.

It was the capital of Japan from 710 to 784 AD, and it's still full of history. Nara is famous for its countless temples, including the iconic Todai-ji Temple, home to the Great Buddha. I love history, but as you know, my true passion is wildlife.

My husband and I are totally obsessed! We get super excited whenever we spot a bird or even an insect. The first place we always visit in a new city is the zoo.

So, Nara immediately caught our attention because it's home to something truly special... wild deer. We were warned that they might be a little bold, but nothing could have prepared us for the sheer number of them! They were everywhere in the park and around it. Some were bold and bossy, demanding food, while others were timid and adorable. We found ourselves completely surrounded!

Everything was perfectly organized in terms of food, too. Deer crackers were on sale everywhere.

Needless to say, we snapped tons of photos and videos! Enjoy!

The sound you're hearing is the "nightingale floor"! It's a special type of floor that was designed to creak when someone walks on it. The idea was to warn the shogun (the ruler) if anyone was sneaking up on him. Pretty clever, right?

I hope you enjoyed the sound!

Hey there!

Yesterday, I visited Nijo-jo Castle in Kyoto. It's seriously stunning! I mean, the gardens are gorgeous, the carvings are incredible, and the whole place has this amazing, historical vibe. It's like stepping back in time.

Speaking of stepping back in time, there's this curious sound I heard while I was walking around the castle. It's a bit eerie, but also interesting. I recorded it, and I'm going to post it here.

Any guesses what it could be?

Some Japanese food is a bit strange for our taste buds, but I'm always up for trying new things!

When I saw the kettle on the table, I also thought it was tea. But surprise! It turned out to be fish and mushroom soup!

I poured the broth through the kettle spout and then ate up the solid soup ingredients with chopsticks.

While visiting Hakone, a hilly area in Japan, we stayed at a Ryokan, a traditional Japanese hotel. I loved the experience! It was so comfortable to sit and sleep on the floor. I really enjoyed the paper walls and bamboo floors. The only reminder of the 21st century was a TV in the corner, which we completely ignored. Who would watch TV when there's a beautiful Japanese garden outside the window?

We were also treated to a Japanese-style dinner with around 15 courses! Although the portions were really small, I was surprised how much I ate! It was delicious! 😉

I'd love you to try and guess what was served in this kettle!
