As Air India and Vistara have finally merged, the Indian aviation sector has finally become a duopoly.
In October 2024, domestic air passenger traffic grew 5.3% to 1.36 crore passengers vs the same month last year.
- Indigo carried 86.40 lakh passengers and achieved a market share of 63.3%, whereas Air India carried 38.91 lakh passengers and achieved a market share of 28.5%.
- SpiceJet's and Akasa's market shares were only 2.4% and 5.4%, respectively.
- The two major carriers now have more than a 90% share in the domestic aviation space, and with both SpiceJet and Akasa struggling, we finally have a duopoly upon us.

Current size of quick commerce market is estimated to be $6 billion.
Apart from earning from core delivery business, quick commerce companies also earn big from ad business. Blinkit is on track to earn ₹1000 crore from ads in this FY and Zepto is also expected to earn the same.
