User Question:
I am currently testing Custom Alerts with Breakouts. I am using double confirmation, currently with the default settings of Total Change 0.2% and Net Long Change 0.2%.
Is it better to increase these values to avoid immediate alerts, or would that delay the signals too much?

Answer:
It’s not about absolute values but rather the relative change and the dynamics of demand.

Your question is best explained with the help of a chart (see below), as I personally prefer trading the currency that shows the strongest demand.

The following points refer to the marked numbers on the chart:
1. The demand for GBP positions increases more than for any other currency—at this point, the change is +1.4%.
2. The demand for GBP positions continues to rise and now shows the strongest Net Long change among all currencies.
3. The FX Power analysis confirms this, showing a clear strength in GBP.
4. It becomes evident here that all other positive Total Volume changes are essentially a result of the increased demand for GBP positions. For example, when someone opens a GBPUSD short position, they are automatically long on USD.

Conclusion:
When the interest in opening new positions for one currency increases significantly, it naturally affects all other currencies as well.

Today, I’m sharing a self-written analysis again, as the week started off a bit complicated, and the new overviews require some explanation.

Why complicated?
Better-than-expected PMI data from the EU and UK have at least temporarily halted last week’s trends. Additionally, some correlated currencies moved in opposite directions, causing further confusion. Overall, we haven’t seen any stable trends today, neither in the strength analysis nor in the volume analysis.

Now, let’s discuss our new overview page, which combines Volume, Power, and Dynamic for short-, medium-, and long-term trends.
• When Volume and Power point in the same direction (e.g., XAU Net Long +2.9% and XAU Power +26.7), this indicates a BUY trend.
• If Volume and Power contradict each other, there is no clear trend.

In the table, you can now see which trends exist in the respective timeframes. You will also notice that currently, there are no trends that align across all three timeframes.

The Dynamic analysis is crucial for understanding how much potential a trade has or whether the currency has already been overextended.

Hello everyone,

Thanks to Mr. Trump's announcement to raise tariffs on Canada (and Mexico), today's Asian session showed high volatility in CAD pairs. So we currently see a 174% ATR range for CAD today, which is shown in red on the FX Dynamics panel. Why red? Because we don't see any potential for trend-following trades on CAD, only for reversal moves, if any.

We still don't see any demand for new trading positions. The EUR is currently the strongest currency, followed by the GBP, but it needs demand for new positions to make a serious trend move.

Both currencies are on our watch list for potential new trades, and we've already received some custom alerts for the EUR due to its dynamic line setup.

News wise, it's a quiet day, but tomorrow's Asian session will be interesting with the AUD CPI release and the RBNZ interest rate decision. So please be aware of this if you are running AUD and NZD positions.

Good morning everyone,

As previously stated on Friday, our trend analysis today is in a new form. I spent the weekend thinking about it, checked the charts, and I've decided it's worth a try.

The new analysis is based on the relationship between the lines. The thick 1W line forms the fixed point. If the 1D line is above it, it is a BUY trend. If it is below it, it is a SELL trend. The short-term 4H analysis determines the stability and momentum of the trend.

This is currently only a test, but the first trades look promising, and the concept works for all currencies and trading symbols.

The day started with a JPY BUY trend that surprised me at first. It wasn't until I took a closer look at the lines for our morning briefing that I realized this was not at all surprising.

The lines of the short and medium term JPY analysis were already above the thick long term JPY line at the start of the Asian session, and this development simply consolidated and strengthened in the following hours.

Sometimes you just have to look closely to understand the market. It is quite possible that the upcoming currency trend analysis will be different from what we have seen so far.

Yesterday's CPI event brought no surprises as the numbers were in line with market expectations. As a result, the USD was able to extend its strength. This had an impact on the majors and gold, which has now finally and significantly broken below the $2600 level.

Fortunately, we can make money in both directions and the more stable the trend, the more we make.

Bitcoin rose above $93,000 yesterday, which is not surprising considering that the new US administration is quite friendly towards the crypto market.

In terms of news, the US PPI data is due today, although I think its impact will be minimal now that the CPI data is known and the market has already reacted.

⚠️ US CPI News ahead ⚠️

Good morning everyone,

As can be seen from our Power Volume Overview, there are currently no discernible trends in either the volume or price-based strength analysis. This is due to the anticipated release of the U.S. Consumer Price Index (CPI) later today. As a result, this brief volume review is sufficient to illustrate that it is not advisable to engage in forex trading at this time, and we will not go into currency details.

The decline in gold prices paused yesterday just below the $2600 level, a threshold that has remained intact since then.

In the non-forex symbols, strong counter-movements are being observed, which provide favorable opportunities for simple scalping setups once the counter-movement subsides.

Hello everyone,

The GBP started today's trading session relatively strong after yesterday's downward movement. However, the positive development in GBP net long volume is only a result of closed GBP SELL trades.
Personally, I think that this is just a short-term reversal. Therefore, I am waiting for a good opportunity to go short with a tight stop loss.

Gold is currently recovering from its recent run to all-time highs and is turning quite sharply lower today, and there is plenty of room up to the next support levels, as you can see in our GOLD chart.

On the news side, there are still high-impact events in the CAD and USD to watch today.

Holy moly, I can really lose track of time when programming, but the update for our Custom Alert tool was worth it. 💪

I see I haven't missed much anyway. The retail volume is falling, probably because of the upcoming ADP and GDP data from the US.

And what also stands out is the massive weakness in the British pound. I guess this is the beginning of an overdue period of GBP weakness ahead of the possible rate cut on 7 November. We already saw the same pattern in the CHF a few weeks ago. 🙂

If you take this into account, you can imagine what will happen to the GBP over the next few days, but whatever happens, you are well-prepared for anything with our tools. 😎

The Israeli retaliation and the Iranian reaction to it were both much more moderate than expected. This has reassured the markets and as a result many indices and oil have opened with significant gaps.
It is difficult to say if and when these will be closed, but I would not necessarily expect it in the short term.

Another surprise is the strong YEN following the defeat of the party that has been in power for decades. And then there is the BOJ interest rate decision this week. Therefore, caution is in order for the JPY.

On the news side, there is only one other event from the BOC Chairman that is relevant for CAD traders today.

Due to an upcoming meeting, I'll keep today's Morning Briefing short. As you can see, there is no volume trend at the moment except for the AUD, which rose in the pre-market but is already falling, and all the currencies are very tightly clustered.

That said, there's nothing interesting going on at the moment and it's best to wait and keep your money safe. If this changes during today's trading sessions, the Custom Alerts tool will give us a hint.🙂

Today was particularly profitable for our Asian traders. The JPY kept declining amidst rising volumes, while GOLD maintained its steady uptrend.

I may have missed the opportunity to capitalize on the JPY trend, but a custom alert has just highlighted the volume trend in the EUR for me. If EURUSD continues it’s downtrend, it should work out. We’ll see.

CAD traders should exercise caution today due to the impending interest rate decision and press conference from the BoC.

Today's trading day is off to a surprisingly quiet start. In general, we are seeing few trends and little momentum, which I am noticing mainly from the fact that I am receiving fewer custom alerts compared to previous days.

The JPY remains weak, GOLD remains strong, and everyone else is relatively neutral.
GBP traders need to pay attention today as BoE Governor Andrew Bailey is scheduled to speak and is expected to talk about the upcoming rate cuts.

Until then, it's a case of waiting patiently for the next trading opportunity, and thanks to our Custom Alerts tool we’ll catch all of them. 💪

Unfortunately, the JPY's downtrend didn't strengthen during the New York session, and we can see this "slowness" in the ADR, which is still only at 51% for the JPY.

However, it was enough to take profits on all pairs and I've closed them now as the move seems to be over and I'm heading for a longer session.

⚠️ ECB NEWS AHEAD ⚠️

Today's trading, or rather non-trading, is currently dominated by the upcoming ECB news as the market waits to see what happens.

And the US retail sales data is also likely to have an impact. So I'd suggest being cautious until the dust settles.

GER40 offered a nice scalping setup with an extreme BUY dynamic that was detected by our Custom Alerts tool, which received it's first major update to version 1.11 a few minutes ago.

GOLD has been struggling with massive resistance, and breakouts are more likely during or after the news.

FX Levels is the next product on our roadmap that needs some fine-tuning before going live. The last few days and bugs with MT4 have unfortunately delayed this. However, the screenshots will provide a first look at its precision.

Today’s trading session started with a big bang for the GBP because odds of a November rate cut jump after inflation slides.
Earlier this month, BoE governor Andrew Bailey told the Guardian that the Bank could become a “bit more aggressive” in cutting interest rates, provided the news on inflation continued to be good. So this scenario is becoming more and more likely.

GOLD continued its strong uptrend that started yesterday afternoon, as seen in my XAU Trading screenshot.

Apart from that, there is nothing interesting because 6 out of 9 currencies in our Power show currently a neutral long-term trend in the 1W FX Power analysis. In this scenario, patience is king, and we’ll wait for more clear trading setups.
