🔥 Women of Resistance: Video Interviews with Fighters 🔥

March 8 is not just a day. It’s about struggle, dignity, and those who refuse to stay silent. On this day, we launch a series of interviews with women on the frontlines—feminists, journalists, anarchists, artists, and activists.

The first heroine is "Lastivka" (Swallow), who has walked the path from squatting, organizing a samba band, and eco-activism—to becoming a platoon commander of drone systems. For the third year, she has been at the front, where freedom clashes with imperial oppression.
This interview series is created in collaboration between Freefilmers and Solidarity Collectives.

8 березня – це не просто день. Це про боротьбу, про гідність, про тих, хто не мовчить. У цей день ми запускаємо серію відео-інтерв’ю з жінками, які стоять на передовій – феміністками, журналістками, анархістками, мисткинями, активістками.

Перша героїня – "Ластівка", яка пройшла шлях від сквотерства, організації самба-бенду, екоактивізму – до командирки взводу безпілотних систем. Вже третій рік вона на фронті, де стикаються свобода та імперський гніт.

War, Resistance, Sisterhood-In-Arms

Full-scale war has changed everything. But those who joined the armed forces, remind us daily that struggle is here, and not only against occupation and imperialism.

Before today, we reached out to fighters we support to hear their thoughts. How has the war changed them? How do they reflect on the experience three years after the invasion – being a woman in the army? This role, seemingly new, becomes increasingly familiar and better understood. For those who are fighting, certain issues are surprisingly persistent: inequality, invisibility, and an obligation to prove their competence every day.

Their responses — vastly different, but strikingly similar — reflect the very issues they describe.
One of the fighters, who chose to remain anonymous, rejected the suggested script and sent us her personal manifesto, “Sister, be my sister-in-arms.” It’ll open the interview.

🇬🇧 The day before yesterday, the United States stopped supplying weapons to Ukraine. Disputes in the international arena have affected everyone, especially combatants. Therefore, now the support of conscious and caring people is more important than ever.

Our comrades sent us the following comment:

“Good day,

A group of aerial reconnaissance of the International Legion is in touch.

Just a few days ago, our groups were brought out for rotation and recovery.
And this means that now is the right time to close the fee for our logistics transport, conduct diagnostics, buy tires for off-road driving and equip with the necessary equipment - install electronic warfare and ER. Which are necessary for the timely detection of FPV drones which currently pose the greatest danger on the way to the position.

All the above manipulations, of course, are more effective and easier to perform during the rest period and when our technicians are not directly loaded with combat work.

We want to add about the tense political situation in the United States and European countries. The disagreements and disputes that arose did not pass by and, of course, affected the moral and psychological state of the fighters not only on the front line, but also of the entire armed forces as a whole.

So now, the support of conscious and caring people is more important than ever."

🇺🇦 Позавчора США припинили поставку зброї до України. Суперечки на міжнародній арені вплинули на всіх, особливо на учасників бойових дій. Наші товариші надіслали нам наступний коментар:

«Вітаємо всіх!

З вами знову група аеророзвідки Інтернаціонального легіону.

Кілька днів тому наш підрозділ було виведено на ротацію та відновлення. Це означає, що зараз ідеальний час для закриття збору на логістичний транспорт, проведення діагностики, придбання шин для бездоріжжя та доукомплектування необхідним обладнанням. Зокрема, необхідно встановити засоби РЕБ і РЕР, критично важливі для своєчасного виявлення FPV-дронів, що наразі становлять найбільшу загрозу на шляху до позицій.

Усі ці заходи значно ефективніше та простіше здійснювати під час ротації, коли наші технічні спеціалісти не залучені до безпосередньої бойової роботи.
Окремо хочемо згадати про напружену політичну ситуацію у США та країнах Європи. Виниклі розбіжності та суперечки вплинули не лише на морально-психологічний стан бійців на передовій, а й на всі Збройні Сили.

🇬🇧 We started the year with a new humanitarian mission to the East

In January we received a massive delivery from our friends – Soli Truck Bonn. It’s the third time they’ve brought a full cargo of humanitarian aid to Ukraine. A week later, another truck from Café Noir, comrades in Karlsruhe, arrived in Kyiv. By the end, pyramids of supplies had formed in our stockrooms, which we took on this trip with us.

We focused on the IDPs, as new waves of people moved to the rear cities of Kharkiv and Donetsk regions due to the advancement of the russian army. Dobropillya in particular. We had already sent some humanitarian aid at the end of 2024 along with gifts on Saint Nicholas Day for displaced children. This time we brought clothing, footwear, appliances, bedding, hygiene products and a lot of adult diapers.  

The second destination was Vysokopillya in Kharkiv region, which shelters more than 150 families of IDPs. In addition to items provided by our partners, we bought 50 food packages, 10 pillows, and hygiene kits.

Just before leaving for the trip, we received another request from our friend in Sumy, so we nipped in there too. 

We didn’t forget about the animals either. This time our comradely initiatives also had our back — part of the animal food came from Europe, and an additional 300kg was given to us by Save Pets of Ukraine, who had also helped us the previous time. Thanks to them we managed to bring pet food to Kupyansk, Izium and Pohonivka.

Unfortunately, we couldn’t go to Kupyansk because of its proximity to the frontline and frequent russian attacks, so we decided to hand it with local volunteers from Hrushkivka village 12km away. 

We’re already planning the second mission to Vysokopillya and Dobropillya as we can’t cover all needs in one go. Please support us with donations and reposts. 🇺🇦 Рік почався з нової гуманітарної поїздки на Схід

У січні ми отримали велику передачу від наших друзів і подруг із Soli Truck Bonn. Вони вже втретє привезли в Україну цілу вантажівку гуманітарної допомоги. А за тиждень до Києва прибула ще одна машина від товаришів і товаришок з Cafe Noir у Карлсруе. У результаті на нашому складі виросли піраміди речей, з якими ми й поїхали у подорож.

Ми сфокусувалися на ВПО, нова хвиля яких прибула у тилові міста Харківської й Донецької області через просування російської армії. Зокрема, у Добропілля. У кінці 2024-го ми вже відправляли в місто гуманітарну допомогу та закупляли подарунки на Миколая для дітей переселенців. А цього разу передали одяг, взуття, техніку, постільну білизну, засоби гігієни та чимало підгузків для дорослих. 

Другим пунктом призначення стало Високопілля у Харківській області, де мешкає понад 150 родин переселенців. Окрім речей, отриманих від наших партнерів ми також закупили 50 продуктових наборів, 10 подушок та продукти гігієни.

До старту гуманітарної поїздки ми отримали запит від наших друзів із Сум на ковдри та генератор, тож вирішили заїхати й туди.

Не забули й про тварин. Із цим нам знову допомогли дружні ініціативи — частина корму прийшла з Європи, а ще 300 кг надали Save Pets of Ukraine, які допомагали нам і попереднього разу. Завдяки цьому ми передали корм зооволонтерам у Куп’янську, Ізюмі та Погонівці.

На жаль, нам не вдалося відвідати Куп’янськ через близькість міста до фронту й постійні російські атаки. Тому вирішили передати корм через місцевих волонтерів у селі Грушківка за 12 км від міста. 

Вже плануємо наступну місію до Високопілля та Добропілля, адже за один раз усе не охопити. Підтримайте нас репостами та донатами. Приймаємо також речі у гарному стані для тих, хто їх потребує: постільну білизну, побутову техніку, корм для тварин, ліки (заспокійливі, противірусні, серцеві, для діабетиків), дитячий одяг, харчування та засоби гігієни.

🇬🇧 We’d like to share pictures and videos from our FPV pilots. All the drones were made in collaboration of Collectives with Czech initiatives Solidrones and the Resistance Support Club.

The drones are built in Czechia and sent to Ukraine. Once we receive them in Kyiv, we either finalise adjustments or check them alongside our local production. When all the preparations are completed, we send them to the front lines, where FPVs help repel the Russian invasion.

It took us about a year to establish production and organise logistics across three locations (Brno–Prague–Kyiv). Now it is stabilized, and we will keep going.

Дрони збирають у Чехії та надсилають в Україну. Щойно ми їх отримуємо у Києві, то або допрацьовуємо, або перевіряємо їх у нашої майстерні. Коли всі приготування завершені, ми відправляємо їх на передову, де БПЛА допомагають давати відсіч російським окупантам.

Близько року пішло на те, щоб налагодити виробництво та організувати логістику між трьома локаціями (Брно–Прага–Київ). Наразі воно працює стабільно, і ми плануємо рухатися далі.
