I learned about this place on an excursion, talking to tourists in Kamchatka - the guys told me that they had been on a ship in the Kuril Islands for two weeks. I decided to visit Onekotan at all no matters. All year I woke up thinking about this island, dreaming of seeing this beauty with my own eyes. I wrote in private to everyone who posted pictures from there, looked for information, watched all the videos. And the closer day X was, the more I thought about it. Helicopters fall and are canceled, they tell about terrible waves on
4th Kuril Strait (a day on a Japanese fishing schooner), and the most offensive thing is that when you are already there is only a small chance of seeing the volcano itself because of the bad weather and fog.
We flew there by helicopter from Petropavlovsk, the paint was not allowed on board. The norm of life in Severo-Kurilsk is the Ebeko volcano erupting right in the city. When trying to climb on it, a storm started at the very end. We had to go back down, we never looked into this beauty.
When we were drawing on old Japanese ships, we found fresh footprints of a bear, we felt that it was right next to us, but we couldn't see anyone around. It became very scary for life, they rattled backpacks with paint, creating noise.
Krenitsyna volcano is an active volcano on Onekotan Island of the Great Kuril Range. A typical bunk "volcano in a volcano". We got there for more than a day among whales on a fishing schooner. We waited for a good weather forecast for several days.
When we stepped ashore, everything was fogged up. We didn't see it at the top of the volcano, the thick fog didn't allow us to see anything within a radius of 10 meters. Having already come to terms with this fact, as if especially for us, the clouds miraculously diverge and the sun comes out for several hours, opening stunning views.
He who seeks, finds!
