It’s a role that requires great and huge sacrifices as they juggle and handle multiple responsibilities in the home. They take bigger responsibilities in nurturing the kids and maintaining the household.

The post-pandemic effect has made it clear that work can be done from anywhere. This ensures that there is now a huge demand in remote workers (people who work from home), thereby giving stay-at-home mums the opportunity to pursuit a career from home without stepping their foot in the traditional workplace setting.



In this article, we would be exploring 5 digital jobs for stay-at-home mums

1. Virtual Assistant

The digital age has opened new and exciting career paths and one of the most accessible roles is Virtual Assistant. Freelancers work independently, offering their services to clients and organizations, without being tied to them. They have skills such as writing, designing, programming etc. Being a freelancer means you have the freedom to choose what jobs to take on and you have the flexibility to set your schedules and work remotely. The key skills required in this role are motivation and discipline, research skills, problem solving and communication skills.

3. Social Media Manager

Social media management is the marketing service associated with handling and monitoring social media platforms for clients. As a social media manager, you’re expected to create and schedule content, engage with followers, monitor social media trends and give reports on accounts progress. The influx of digital agencies across globe has made it very essential for brands to build strong presence on social media platforms in order to stay competitive. Hence, as a social media manager, it is important that you can use your skills to grow your clients media presence. The key skills required in this role are analytical skills, communication skills, problem solving skills and tech savviness.

4. Community Manager

Community managers are the voices of brands. They handle building, growing, managing, and engaging an organization’s online community. Every brand needs an online community- a virtual gathering of people whose goal and vision aligns with what the brand is offering- especially the ones looking to utilize the digital platforms to their advantage. The community managers play the role of the brand’s advocate, ensuring that they are fully participating in the community discussion and listening to the needs of the community members. The key skills required in this role are social listening, creativity, communication skills and relationships building.

5. Program Co-Ordinator

A program coordinator is someone who plans, implements, and evaluates programs and projects. They oversee various aspects of programs, to ensure that it runs smoothly and aligns with its goals and aims. They also coordinate and monitor the progress of projects/programs effectively. The key skills required in this role are detail-oriented, critical thinking, leadership, time management, problem solving and communication skills.

One huge advantage of the aforementioned roles is- they allow flexibility. This means that mum who do not embrace the pursuit of traditional careers can conveniently take on jobs that would give them the opportunity to earn their pay and also perform their roles as stay-at-home mums as these jobs allow them to work from home.
