🚨Swiggy has cut its IPO valuation to $11.3-$11.5 billion vs $12-$15 billion it was previously asking.

Couple of major reasons are

1. Sentiments in Indian market and Hyundai IPO going at discount.
2. Majority of IPO is OFS so investors are cautious.

Some investors bought Swiggy’s unlisted shares at a premium to their IPO valuation will not only have to face 6 months lock in period, but also some loss.

Mutual funds had about ₹1.76 lakh crores in cash of September 2024.
They have already deployed close to ₹1 lakh crore in this month due to FII selling.

This ₹1.76 lakh crore was roughly 5.8% of total equity AUM. Mutual funds keep some % of cash (usually 5%) to meet redemption and other needs.

If FIIs continue to do big selling and if retail investors start pulling money out from mutual funds (higher redemptions), market may see bigger downfall.

In September 2024, SIP inflow into mutual funds reached an all-time high of ₹24,508.73 crore and YTD SIP inflow is ₹1.33 Lakh.

FIIs selling ₹1 lakh crore just in one month (not complete yet) is a matter of concern and no wonder how much we thump our chests, retail investors can’t match the money power which these big investors got.
