Dear 2024, thank you for being the best ♥️
This year is one that will stay in my heart forever.
I discovered new regions of Russia (including the Arctic!) and got to show it to millions of you, my dear friends, from all over the world. This year I really found my calling to create meaningful content, and I can’t wait to see where it takes me in 2025. Also, I got married!!! 💍 In an international Russian/Mexican/American wedding that left me feeling like I was living in a fairytale. Thank you all for your support, your kind messages, and your love! It’s really what keeps me going. On that note, let’s go into 2025 with a positive outlook, no matter how harsh the world may sometimes seem. I’ve learned this year that no matter what, love and light will always triumph. So, I send you all my love and light for 2025, may all your dreams come true. Happy New Year! Feliz Año Nuevo! 🎉

A famous Russian winter tradition! A Russian sleigh is often called a troika, which is a word that means “three”, because it’s pulled by three horses. For Christmas, Grandfather Frost (Ded Moroz/Russian Santa Claus) brings gifts on his sleigh pulled not by reindeer, but by a Troika of horses!

For me, this trip can be described in colors. The green flicker of northern lights, the pastel pink of morning frost and sunrises, the golden glimmer of reindeer fur, the hazy blue and purple twilight, the gray of the never ending tundra, the blinding white of snow, and the deep pitch black of night. 🌌

Postcards from the arctic tundra 🦌

Life in the tundra is no easy task, but it’s one that the indigenous Komi and Khanty people are used to. Famous for their deer herding, these nomads have a way of living that has been lost in most of the world. I spent a week learning about their unique lifestyle, culture, traditions, and stories. Here is a small glimpse of what it was like, stay tuned for more to come. ✨⛺️
For those who don’t know, Russia has around 200 different ethnic groups!

🇷🇺 Жизнь в тундре — нелегкая задача, но коренные народы коми и ханты к ней привыкли. Известные своим оленеводством, эти кочевники ведут образ жизни, которого нет в других стран мира. Я провела с ними неделю, изучая их уникальный образ жизни, культуру, традиции и истории. Вот несколько фото о том, как это было, ждите скоро еще контент. ✨⛺️

Just landed in Salekhard, the capital of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug of northwest Siberia, and the only city in the world that crosses the Arctic Circle ❄️
