Hello everyone,

I hope the preparation is going well and even if it is not as per your expectations, let it be, dont mull too much over what is left.
Just keep your nerves calm.

Dont give in to FOMO, just revise whatever you have studied till now.

Also, very important
Follow a schedule which you will follow on exam days.
Wake up early, sleep early so that your sleep cycle gets synced and you dont spend sleepless nights before the exam day.
Eat properly, take care of your health.

All the best!

For people asking abt EOL-

Hello everyone. Happy friendship day.

This message is specifically for '24 batch officers considering EoL. I have got multiple queries, and thought to share my general opinion on the issue.

First and foremost, taking EoL should be your _*individual decision*_. No one else can or should take it for you. However, there are a few things what you can consider for taking an informed decision.

1. *One time EoL opportunity*. It is time when you are in prime of your peration. You should not regret later in your service that you should have tried one more time.
2. *Performance satisfaction* with your previous CSE attempts. If you feel you haven't given your best yet, EoL might be the chance to go all in.
3. *EoL is a long commitment*, roughly 1 year. You should see if you can sustain the aspirants life for another year or not.
4. *Longevity of preparation*. If you have already given a good number of attempts, especially Mains, you might feel the fatigue in EoL year.
5. *Cadre*. This is specifically for IPS and IFS (AIS). Cadre would matter, and if you are uncertain or unhappy with current cadre, EoL option can be considered.
6. *Financial impact*. EoL will delay your regular salary by 1 years. During this period, technically, you can't opt for other salaried work too. It will effect your financial independence.
7. *Service seniority*. EoL attempt loosely translates to losing 2 years seniority when selected in EoL attempt. See if you can bear this cost based on your age and other factors.
8. *Personal factor(s)* not listed above.

In short, EoL depends on many factors. It depends on you *which factor weighs more* for you. The decision has, therefore, to be very personal and well thought. I would reiterate, _*take decision for yourself*_, don't let others take it for you. And _*in no case, demean or develop poor feelings for your current service*_. Best wishes to all.

Regards,
Kartikeya Verma (IPS)

All the best to everyone giving prelims.

Just keep your calm, be confident and most importantly be hydrated.
Try to get enough rest before the exam.
Watch some light comedy if that works for you.

Last year, I posted a message on how to attempt GS papers. I’m posting it again with slight modifications.

How to Attempt (GS1-3)

General Instructions:

While reading question paper (before start of examination, papers are distributed 2-5 minutes before)- try to link questions with your short notes of value addition. If you are able to remember committee name/articles/case studies- try to mark it on question paper itself.

It is better to start answering the questions as soon as exam starts (9am/2pm) and not to waste time in complete the reading of question paper

No need to complete sentences while in writing points- if it conveys the meaning

Hello Specific institutions:

GS1

1) History/World History/Art and Culture- enough scope to make maps, diagrams like Ashokan pillar, Stupa, Temples

2) Geography- make diagrams in most of the questions. Micro (Small) diagrams also

3) Society- important to define key terms (like poverty, caste), mention Policy, life cycle approach (eg women- child, adolescent, old age)

GS2

1) Analytical- use of small small paragraphs in some questions. Properly explaining the statements becomes important with examples and analysis

2) Show ethical dimension if possible in governance

3) International Relations- political diagram must, historical dimension, use of key words (like track 2 diplomacy), G20

4) Use of ARC2/Articles/SC Judgments/Budget, NCRWC, LCI, Commission (Sarkaria/Punchhi)

5) Linking Static with Current Affairs (for GS3 also)

GS3

1) Use of Graphs/pie charts(which I had prepared beforehand) and statistics: economist love stats/data

2) Disaster Management- Use of diagrams and maps, best practices

3)Security- use of bodies/Acts/Institutions

4a) Value addition- Budget/Economic Survey/NITI Aayog/ SDGs

4b) Env and Security: Summits and agreements

5) Time management is utmost important- generally you will be knowing all questions. At the same time you have to be accurate in answering and not beating around the bush as far possible

Best Wishes !!

P.S- No matter how well you have prepared and managed time, for maximum people including me there used to be few questions where I had to rush to finish it !!
