⚡️The Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has proposed 95% reservation in government jobs for locals in Ladakh, one-third reservation for women in hill councils and has agreed to address concerns regarding land-related matters, according to leaders from the region who attended a high-powered committee (HPC) meeting on Tuesday (December 3, 2024).
The Centre has also proposed to work on a draft to ensure “constitutional safeguards” to preserve the land and culture of Ladakh and also agreed to declare Urdu and Bhoti the official languages of Ladakh. Survey conducted at Sambhal’s Jama Masjid over temple claim, court cites petition on historical significance, demolition by Babar.
On the night of 19th November, a survey was initiated at the Jama Masjid in Sambhal, hours after the Civil Court of Sambhal directed the same.
The directive came in response to a petition suggesting that the mosque was originally the Hari Har Mandir, a Hindu temple, partially demolished in 1529 by Mughal invader Babar.
The petition was filed by Supreme Court lawyer Vishnu Shankar Jain. In his petition, Jain argued that the site holds religious importance for Hindus and demanded an Advocate Commissioner’s survey of the premises.

SpaceX's heavylifter Falcon 9 rocket (capacity to launch 8,300 kg payloads) will launch one of the India's heaviest communication satellites, Gsat 20 🛰️, weighing 4,700 kg on Nov 19.
Why SpaceX ?
ISRO was dependent on Arianespace to launch heavy satellites but at present they lacked commercial slots for Gsat 20 launch.
Ariane 5 rocket has retired and next slots for newly launched Ariane 6 rocket have been booked.
China is never considered an option. While Russia is in conflict with Ukraine.
SpaceX remains the only reliable option.
While India is also working on its NGLV (Next Generation Launch Vehicle) with aim to enhance the payload capacity by threefold compared to current LVM3 (capacity 4,000 kg).

Indian Navy in a coordinated operation with narcotics bureau & Gujarat Police intercepted a suspicious boat leading to seizure of approx 700 kg of meth in Arabian Sea near Porbandar, Gujarat
Six Iranian nationals were apprehended with the narcotics and brought to Porbandar's Port by security forces.
This is the second major successful coordinated Anti Narcotics Operations at sea by the Navy this year.
So far this year, 11 Iranian nationals and 14 Pakistani nationals have been arrested in three cases, and are all in jail awaiting trial and in the past nine months, over 4,000 kg of drugs have been seized from the Arabian Sea near Porbandar in a series of high-profile operations.
