RIP-000-018: Ren 2.0 funding and Ren Foundation is posted on the Forum and live on Snapshot

Reminder to withdraw darknode income ⚠️ ⏲

This is a reminder for darknode operators that you should withdraw all your darknode income as soon as possible, as it will not be possible after the Ren 1.0 network has shut down. Any income left after the network shuts down is at risk of loss.

It is not know currently when the Ren 1.0 network shuts down, therefore it is advised to withdraw your darknode income as soon as possible.

Remember to check for darknode income both under the 'RenVM' tab, as well as the 'Ethereum' tab (please double-check that you haven't forgotten about the income under the 'Ethereum' tab). Any rewards withdrawn from the Ethereum contract (such as renBTC) need to be bridged to their native chains as an additional step you must do, as it will not be possible to bridge assets such as renBTC to BTC when the Ren 1.0 network shuts down.

Reminder to bridge back Ren assets to the respective native chains as soon as possible ℹ️

The main development focus continues to be on Ren 2.0 — the next stage of Ren — that will enable truly native multichain applications, as well as MPC support for EVM contracts. Moonbeam was also added as a new host chain, and Optimism and Arbitrum testnets were migrated to Goerli.

Coming up, Ren will also release a new transaction type that lets you bridge already wrapped assets like renBTC to other chains in one go without having to burn first and wrap again.

This transaction type is called burn-and-mint, and when live will have the fee set at 0.05% 🔀
