Tonight marks the 15th night of Sha’ban, known as Nisfu Sha’ban🌹. As we approach the blessed month of Ramadan🌙, this night is a great opportunity for reflection, making dua, and strengthening our connection with Allah.

As youths in the community, it is also vital that we maintain strong relationships with our local mosques. The masjid is not just a place of worship; it is the heart of our ummah, where we gather for knowledge, prayer, and community support. By keeping in contact with the mosques, we;

- Stay connected to Islamic learning by attending classes and talks strengthens our spiritual growth.
- Support community initiatives, as many mosques organize welfare programs, charity drives, and youth activities.

[External - Volunteers needed for Pertapis Food on Wheels 2025]

This upcoming February, we are having our yearly Food on Wheels scheduled from 15 to 16
February 2025. This event is aimed to provide essential food supplies to the families of our residents before Ramadan, fostering community support and alleviating financial burdens, while promoting the
values of compassion, solidarity, and shared responsibility within the community. By collaborating
with PERTAPIS, you can make a significant impact on the lives of those who rely on our services,
while also demonstrating your commitment to social responsibility.

We are seeking the support of volunteer to participate in the
event on 15 February 2025, dedicated to packing food supplies. This is an excellent opportunity for you to engage in meaningful community service, develop leadership skills, and foster a sense of social responsibility. All volunteers will receive a Token of Appreciation, which they can use as a
supporting testimonial for their future endeavours.

Additionally, we are seeking your support through Donations In Kind of essential household items that will be packed and distributed to families in need. Your generosity will go a long way in making a positive impact on the lives of these families.

[External - The Future of Malay/Muslim Mutual Aid in Singapore?]

Greetings from Singapore Heritage Society! We would like to invite members of your organisation to attend our upcoming event for the launch of the Malay edition of Khairat Kita: A History of Malay/Muslim Mutual Aid.

There will be two exciting panels moderated by Yulianna Frederika, Lepak Conversations Founder. Both panels will be conducted in English, followed by a Q&A session with the speakers and reception. The event is free.

Panel 1: Translating Khairat Kita

Fadhli Fadzil, translator of the Malay edition, will be sharing his reflections on translating the new edition along with authors Fauzy Ismail and Zakaria Zainal.

A collection of interviews, photographs, essays and personal reflections, Khairat Kita: A History of Malay/Muslim Mutual Aid is a project documenting the last few remaining Malay/Muslim Mutual Benefit Organisations (MMBOs) providing aid and charity to their deceased members' families. Known as badan khairat kematian, they are volunteer, community-led initiatives based on a centuries-old tradition of mutual aid.

Panel 2: A New Generation of MMBOs

Muhd Hydil from Qaryah Greenweavers, a youth-led MMBO will be sharing about the challenges and triumphs of running a MMBO today. Officially Established in 2023, Qaryah Greenweavers started out with a group of neighbours in Tampines North, casually exploring the idea of organizing Terawih prayers in their housing estate. The Qaryah is proud to be one of the youngest Qaryah in Singapore, having benefited from growing up in neighbourhood with established Qaryahs in their younger days. They have organised Terawih & Eid Prayers for 2 years. On top of that, they have also organised porridge distribution drives, Maulid events, as well as Qasidah workshops for the children in the neighbourhood.

[External - Hayaa' Network Youth Relate-Able Lab]

The Youth Relate-Able Lab™ is a 10-session interactive programme that fosters mental resilience, inclusivity, and digital intelligence among youth aged 18 – 35 years old. It addresses the unique challenges faced by Muslim youth in today’s digital age, including identity formation, intimacy, and mental wellness.

We are excited to invite you to an upcoming training programme that will equip youth workers / Youth Development Officers with the skills and knowledge to facilitate Youth Relate-Able Lab™. This 2-days training programme is designed for those who are passionate about youth development and are eager to make a positive impact on the lives of young people. As a participant, you will gain a deep understanding of the Youth Relate-Able Lab curriculum and methodology, and you will develop the skills necessary to facilitate engaging and impactful sessions.

Led by experienced facilitators from Hayaa’ Network with expertise in youth development and the Warm Data Lab principles, you will have the opportunity to learn from their many years of experience in engaging young persons and their families, practice your facilitation skills, and receive constructive feedback.

Upon completion of the training, you will be certified as a Youth Relate-Able Lab facilitator and will be equipped to deliver the programme within your own mosque or Muslim organisation. Our goal is to create a network of skilled facilitators equipped to positively influence our youth, encouraging them to embrace their identities and contribute meaningfully to society.

We believe that this is a valuable opportunity for you to enhance your skills, expand your knowledge, and contribute to the development of a thriving Muslim youth community in Singapore. We encourage you to join us for this exciting training programme and become a part of the Youth Relate-Able Lab movement!

We are organising an online engagement session via Zoom, on Friday, 17 January 2025 at 11am. This session is open to individuals and organisations to find out more about the Youth Relate-Able Lab programme and/or the facilitators’ training component of the programme. [External - Volunteers needed for Pertapis Food on Wheels 2025]

This upcoming February, we are having our yearly Food on Wheels scheduled from 15 to 16
February 2025. This event is aimed to provide essential food supplies to the families of our residents before Ramadan, fostering community support and alleviating financial burdens, while promoting the
values of compassion, solidarity, and shared responsibility within the community. By collaborating
with PERTAPIS, you can make a significant impact on the lives of those who rely on our services,
while also demonstrating your commitment to social responsibility.

We are seeking the support of volunteer to participate in the
event on 15 February 2025, dedicated to packing food supplies. This is an excellent opportunity for you to engage in meaningful community service, develop leadership skills, and foster a sense of social responsibility. All volunteers will receive a Token of Appreciation, which they can use as a
supporting testimonial for their future endeavours.

Additionally, we are seeking your support through Donations In Kind of essential household items that will be packed and distributed to families in need. Your generosity will go a long way in making a positive impact on the lives of these families.

Alhamdulillah, Allah SWT has blessed us with abundant rain over the past few days, a beautiful sign of His mercy and a reminder of His countless blessings upon us.

Rain is not only a mercy but also a special moment for us to connect with Allah SWT through dua 🌧️

Our Beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ 🌹 said:

“Two (du‘as) are not rejected: du‘a at the time of the call to prayer and du‘a at the time of rain.”

(Narrated by al-Hakim in al-Mustadrak (2534); at-Tabarani in al-Mu‘jam al-Kabir (5756); classed as sahih by al-Albani in Sahih al-Jami‘ (3078))

Let us take a moment to pause, reflect on His mercy, and turn to Him in sincere supplication. Ask Him for what your heart desires, for barakah in your studies, health, family, and for the well-being of the entire ummah.

As you begin your second semester today, may this be a semester of growth, learning, and blessings. We pray that Allah SWT grants you ease in your efforts, clarity in your goals, and success in both this world and the next 🤲

We are happy to announce that we will be increasing our target to $100,000 to also provide more urgent support in Gaza, Lebanon, Syria as well as long-term support such as Psycho-Social centres to address trauma.

Madrasah Wak Tanjong Al-Islamiah is one of the six full-time madrasahs in Singapore. As part of our ongoing development initiatives, we are organising a 5-A-Side Football Festival on 1st February 2025 at Jalan Besar Stadium, to raise funds for the construction of a new annex building. This facility will allow us to foster an innovative learning environment and better meet the evolving needs of our students.

We will be collaborating with renowned former footballers, including Mr.Samad Allapitchay, Mr. Malek Awab, Mr. Saswadimata Dasuki, Mr.Abdul Malek and Mr.Hariss Haron, to organize a full day event.

LBKM will be holding its Annual Bursary Awards Ceremony on 16 November 2024, Saturday at the Drama Theatre, School of The Arts, Singapore.

We are looking for volunteers in the roles of ushering, registration counters, stage management and crowd control. The volunteers will work with a head volunteer and staff who will guide them through the event. There will also be a briefing for the volunteers in the morning of the event. Details of the event are as follows:

Date: 16 November 2024, Saturday
Reporting Time: 8.30 am to 4 pm
Venue: Drama Theatre, School of the Arts Singapore
Dress code: Smart casual/modest with covered shoes

Breakfast, lunch (at 11 am) and tea will be provided. We will also provide a Certificate of Appreciation and Participation to the students for volunteering with us.
