Alex: Hey, uh, Ryan, what are you up to this weekend? Anything, like, exciting?
Ryan: Umm, not really. My cousin’s coming over, so I’ll probably just, you know, hang out with him. What about you?
Alex: Oh, I’m thinking of going to that new skate park downtown. I heard it’s, like, really cool. Wanna come?
Ryan: Uh, I don’t know. I mean, I don’t really know how to skate. I’d just embarrass myself, you know?
Alex: Oh, come on! You don’t have to be a pro or anything. I’ll, like, help you out—it’ll be fun. Plus, you can just watch if you want.
Ryan: Hmm, I don’t know… Is it, like, far from here?
Alex: Nah, it’s only about, I think, a 10-minute bike ride. Oh, and we can stop for ice cream on the way back.
Ryan: (laughs) Wait, so you’re, like, bribing me with ice cream now?
Alex: Well, yeah! I’m not above bribery if it gets you out of the house.
Ryan: Alright, fine. I’ll come. But, like, if I fall flat on my face, you’re paying for my ice cream.
Alex: Deal! I’ll even throw in an extra scoop or something.
Ryan: You better. So, uh, what time are we meeting?
Alex: Let’s say, like, 10 a.m. at my house? Just bring your bike, and, um, I’ll bring an extra helmet.
Ryan: Cool. See you then. But seriously, if I break anything, you’re still buying that ice cream.
Alex: (laughs) Don’t worry, dude, I’ve got you covered.
