#Job Description: Level 1 Support Network Engineer

Dear Connections :
I am seeking highly motivated and customer-focused Level 1 Support Network Engineers to join our Service Desk and Network Operations Center team. This role involves providing first-line support for network operations, monitoring infrastructure, troubleshooting issues, and escalating incidents as needed to ensure the seamless operation of our IT services.

About:
We are a service provider delivering a comprehensive range of IT services, including advanced Network and security solutions and robust cloud services, to support diverse organizational needs and drive digital transformation.

Key Responsibilities:
1- Network Monitoring and Incident Management:
.Proactively monitor network devices and systems using tools such as SNMP-based monitoring and other NOC systems.
.Identify, log, and respond to incidents promptly to minimize downtime and maintain service levels.
.Escalate unresolved or complex issues to Level 2 or specialized teams with clear documentation and follow-up.
2- Customer Support and Communication:
.Act as the first point of contact for users reporting network or IT-related issues.
.Provide timely and professional communication to stakeholders regarding incident status and resolutions.
.Deliver exceptional customer service by understanding and addressing user concerns effectively.
3- Troubleshooting and Resolution:
.Perform initial diagnostics for network connectivity, hardware, and software issues.
.Resolve basic to intermediate issues related to network devices, servers, and configurations.
.Ensure accurate documentation of problems, steps taken, and resolutions in the ticketing system.
4- Documentation and Reporting:
.Maintain detailed and accurate logs of network performance, incidents, and service requests.
.Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on NOC operations and performance metrics.
5- Operational Excellence:
.Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth handovers between shifts.
.Adhere to established ITIL or ITSM processes for incident, problem, and change

Qualifications and Skills:
.Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
.In Depth experience of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and firewalls.
.In Depth experience of network monitoring tools and ticketing systems (e.g., BMC Helix, SolarWinds, Splunk).
.Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to work under pressure.
.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-centric approach.
.Willingness to work in a 24/7 shift environment, including weekends and holidays.
.Industry certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA +, or equivalent.
.Experience working in a NOC or similar IT support environment.
.Exposure to ITIL practices for change, incident and problem management.
