Got the service allocation today, Guys.
I know I have not been able to answer a lot of queries. That’s because I am swamped by a lot of assignments and courses, shopping for the FC and also because a lot of the doubts have been already answered in earlier queries. (Also, needed some time for myself 😅 family and friends before leaving for FC)

Till then: “May the force be with you” 🧘🏻‍♂️

Best wishes to all those appearing for APSC mains tomorrow onwards. Give your best shot.
Also, remember that there is decent enough chance for recovery, even if a single paper doesn’t go as per your expectations. Go to exam hall with an open mind set and try to complete the papers.

“May the force be with you” ✌️

Hope you guys are doing well. Despite my intention to post a video on value addition strategies as early as possible, circumstances were hindering the process. Lots of engagements and prior commitments had to be fulfilled.
Anyways, just finished writing for the video. Hopefully will be able to post the video in 2-3 days.

Also, for those appearing for APSC mains, hope you guys are staying strong. Don’t overthink now. Keep your mind stable and just continue putting in the hours, without thinking of the results.

For the repeated query on current affairs:
My strategy for CA was not very well streamlined. It was kind of messy. Anyways, will share my experience.

1. Newspaper: I would definitely recommend reading newspaper and finishing it in like 40-45 minutes (I personally was not a regular reader of newspaper (unfortunately) since I was a working candidate and had time crunch… but would definitely recommend newspaper.) I read 2 newspapers regularly in the interview phase though.
- No note making from newspaper.

2. Monthlies: You can follow monthly of “ANY” renowned institute. I used those at a cursory to intermediate level.
No note making from those either.
(FYI: By “ANY” I mean “any”. Kindly make “smart choice” based on your taste)

3. Annual compilations: I used annual compilations eventually before the prelims specially for the subjects of
- environment
- Science and tech
- economy
- International relation.
Rest are bonus if you can manage.
Once again no note making from these.

Have received a similar question over and over again.
“I am a beginner, how should I start?”

Well,
1. Analyse the syllabus

2. Give a cursory look at the PYQs (to get a hint of how the questions are being framed and what are the topics being asked frequently)

3. Start reading the basic static resources
- I studied only 3 NCERTs (SINCE my school level concepts were not that bad) : Geography class 11 and 12 and 12 Macroeconomics. So, if your concepts are weak, then you can consider reading some NCERTs of class 11 and 12. Otherwise you can go directly for the main books

4. For current affairs: Start reading a newspaper for general awareness (I couldn’t read newspapers regularly due to time crunch, but I would definitely suggest reading a newspaper) .. alongwith that, you can follow a monthly compilation of “ANY” renowned institute. (DON’T OVERCOMPLICATE SIMPLE THINGS.. UPSC has asked you to read current affairs, not current affairs by any PARTICULAR institute.. so any institute is good enough)

5. Start exploring the optional subject. Factors to be considered:
- INTEREST: this should the only and only determining factor. Others are just add on factors.
- Background knowledge from graduation
- Does it add value to GS papers?
- Are resources available for this optional?

So, I guess we have a winner, though not by a large margin.
I myself, was more interested to make the second video 😅 So, tried to put a single vote from my side as well 😂. Will start soon ✌️

Wrt the Prelims Result announced today:
- Those who cleared the prelims: Gear up, the remaining days till mains are going to be very crucial. Will try to help with answer writing.

- Those who fell short slightly: stay strong. Don’t be too hard on yourself. Remember that you won’t be starting from point zero. Recall at what stage of preparation you were 1 year ago. You have definitely grown and learnt a lot in the last year.
Will try to help in whatever way possible

Sharing a Rough draft of some statistics/data/report that I used for value addition in mains answer. Please note: 1) Information is not up to date (Kindly update the information accordingly) 2) This is NOT an exhaustive list, this is just INDICATIVE of the themes and subtopics that can be covered 3) These are information that I have collected from different sources and I won't claim that they are 100% correct, though I have made my best efforts to verify them. Be smart, use these in your own innovative way.😇✌️ Good night
