The Israeli military has sought to restore its reputation following the massive defeat its Gaza Division suffered on October 7 by inviting reporters to embed with its units in northern Gaza.

But even Israeli reporters have been forced to acknowledge that the army has spent the entire time hiding inside heavily armored tanks - essentially mobile bunkers - and that "much of the fighting is being done, for now, on screens."
