IN December 2017, there was all the news about #Maruti setting up new plant in Gujrat and how Monthly sales would increase. Stock touched a High of 9382. Subsequent to that even if we ignore the Covid low of 3841 in March, 2020- Maruti came down to 5464 in July, 2019. So what does this all say - Even BlueChips can correct big time. December 2017 high was only revisted in September 2023 (after a period of almost 6 years)
So in short -RiskManagement,position sizing and stop loss is your only friend in this Market. Once a your price is gone - it becomes an automatic Long Term Investment and your retirement from the Markets if your Capital is blocked!!!
