Pep Guardiola was given fresh assurances that Man City will win their legal battle with the Premier League before signing a new two-year contract. Man City insiders believe the new deal gives a strong indication that the club are winning their legal fight.

Pep Guardiola on the Man City squad: “I know the guys, I know they will be back and if I’m going to doubt about them it is something wrong about me. Maybe I will not be good enough to get back in those situations, and we will see, but I’ve been a football player.”

“The best way to go through the position is accept the reality. It’s not about me, you, the weather or the grass, we have to start to winning games. Now you realise how difficult what we have done is.”

Kyle Walker: “Practice makes permanent, as they say. It doesn't vanish. Your powers don't just go. We know what we can do, our qualities, our weaknesses, and it's about just getting a win. “We struggled more without the ball in high-pressing, but with the ball we're more than decent. We created I don't know how many chances, but we were there, our game was there. But in every situation it's not going well and we have to accept.”

Pep Guardiola: “It's not a question of tactics when you lose these types of games, or these situations. Of course there are details, but in that situation it's how we react. And I don't think in that situation when you lose three games in a row in the PL the reason why is a tactics issue.”

“We have to move forward, we have to break it, and we will try.”

Pep Guardiola: "We started really, really good, and could not score. And after that we conceded, and after it's more difficult for our emotions right now. But in eight years we've never lived this kind of situations, now we have to live it, and we have to break it winning the next games, and especially the next one.”

“Sometimes you have to live, sometimes you don't find the reasons. We try to find it but sometimes it happens. And we have to accept it. Life is not always, in modern football, what you want. But we will stand up and we will do it.”
