singapore's 1st DURIAN CURRY?!?! WOW Bistro served up a massive feast with tons of foods fusioned to our local flavours!!
they are a family-friendly diner producing foods with no pork, no lard and no MSG!!
these were the signatures we tried:
๐ฅฃ creamy mushroom soup, creamy potato with bacon bits soup, creamy tomato soup (S$6.80 each)
๐ aubergine parmigiana tower (S$11.80)
๐ triple-infused oxtail stew (S$28.80)
๐ฅ DURIAN CURRY FISH (S$28.80)
๐ฅฉ lam kut teh (S$30.80)
let's start with my absolute favourite dish, the DURIAN CURRY FISH!!! honestly, all of us were super skeptical about this because who would think to have durian and nonya curry together right??? but it surprisingly went SO WELL TOGETHER!! the curry itself was super flavourful and rich but when eaten together with the durian flesh, it balanced out the savoury with its own sweetness!! the fish was also really tender and fresh so everything blended with harmony~ we were all really mindblown about this combination and i'd actually 100% recommend it to everyone!!
my second favourite was their TRIPLE-INFUSED OXTAIL STEW!! the oxtail was so tender and literally fall-off-the-bone~ the stew itself had a really deep flavour and dipping their crisp toasted baguette in it was so satisfying!!
their LAM KUT TEH was pretty interesting!! instead of pork, they decided to incorporate lamb into the soup!! it was also served with a small portion of lambrack on the side!! i wasn't really into this as i felt the soup was a little too oily and the lamb was slightly dry
out of all the soups, the MUSHROOM was our favourite!! it had a very strong aroma and once again their crispy baguette made everything better!! the POTATO soup was thick and creamy, and the TOMATO soup was amazing too!!
the AUBERGINE PARMIGIANA TOWER was pretty basic!! i mean i love aubergines and the tomato cheese combination is timeless~
