No, I don’t give any feedback on speaking here because it takes time and energy, and I don’t find it fair to do that for free

But I am working on a new project - it will be a paid channel with detailed feedback, video calls and so on.

Why is it so important to watch something in English?

1️⃣ Listening practice 👂🏻

Of course, when you watch something, you practice your listening. The more people you hear, the better your skill becomes.

2️⃣ Exposure 🌍

There are so many words, phrases and sayings! And it’s much easier to remember them from a context. And also, you learn about different cultures, habits, ways of living and thinking. How exciting!

3️⃣ Creating a “new” brain 🧠

When you have a new language around you, your brain gets used to the new sounds. It also catches patterns and tries to make a system out of everything it hears, even if you don’t understand something. Your brain is faster and smarter than you, sorry 😅

💯 After some time of having English in your life, you’ll notice that it’s easier for you to understand things, you’ll catch the definitions from the context faster, etc.

⚠️ If you don’t feel confident enough to watch something big, like a movie or a tv show, videos on YouTube might be the perfect way to start ☺️

Some notes:

Play the videos in the background while cooking/cleaning/driving.

Don’t try to understand EVERYTHING. Remember, you are like a child now - kids don’t understand what we tell them, but they have a language around them all the time.

Make sure the topics of the videos are interesting for you. Also, the voice should be nice for your ears. Make this experience as comfortable as possible.

And remember - the most difficult thing is to start ☺️ It’s much easier after 👌🏻😁

I had a hell of a day yesterday 😅

But I’m learning to be calm in these situations, even though it’s very difficult. The more you react, the more you attract the same energy into your life, and we don’t want to do that, do we? 😁

Instead of being upset and angry the whole day, I let myself feel bad for a little bit (it’s healthy to live through all the emotions), but then I took a bath, meditated, lay down and rested as much as I could before going to work

Would I have felt better being at home? Sure. Could I have felt worse being angry? Absolutely. 💯

The lesson was a success, the students were happy, and I felt good about helping out a coworker, so it actually wasn’t all that bad 😁

The way you look at things and react to them can make all the difference in the world ☺️ Try it yourself next time when something goes “wrong”

The first one is a regular thing, something I generally enjoy in my life.

The second one is a suggestion/thought/idea about future.

1️⃣ You can do it when no one is around - while cooking, cleaning, driving, etc

Say “yes, I have”, when the question starts with “have”, for example, in Present Perfect:

- Have you been to Spain?
- Yes, I have.

Or Present Perfect Continuous:

- Have you been working out lately?
- Yes, I have.

But if the question starts with “do”, answer “yes, I do”, for example:

- Do you have a job?
- Yes, I do.
- Did you have a good day?
- Yes, I did.

Hello everyone 👋🏼☺️
Let me introduce myself

My name is Valery, I am 30 years old; I am from Russia, currently living in Türkiye 🇹🇷

I have been an English teacher for more than 12 years 🤪 I have worked in different schools, with different people - I have lots of experience ☺️

I know that a lot of people misunderstand learning, they think that you have to learn all the grammar before speaking (no), that you can’t speak without knowing alphabet (no), everything has to be very serious (biiiiiig no), etc. There are so many stereotypes around studying a new language! 😱

And I am very happy to see so many bright people here, in my telegram channel ❤️ People who are looking for new ways to practice, people who want to improve themselves, people who understand that learning takes time and effort, but it can be easy and fun 🤩 Or we might say lazy 😉😁

Practice is the key 🔑
So, go ahead, scroll up/use Search/click the pinned post and choose a hashtag - do something for your English today

Have a great Tuesday ❤️

There is no difference in meaning:
I have a car. = I have got a car.

If you prefer American English, say “have”; if you are learning British English, say “have got” 👌🏻

@lazy.course | FEPS

20 Dec, 15:32

“I have” - American English
“I have got” - British English

That’s all 👌🏻😁

@lazy.course | FEPS

20 Dec, 15:31

Please teacher, what’s the difference between (I have , I’ve got ) ??

@lazy.course | FEPS

19 Dec, 10:32

Negative “have to” means that you can do something, but it’s not necessary:

1️⃣ I don’t have to wake up early tomorrow because it’s my day off. (but I can if I want to)

2️⃣ They don’t have to know English because everyone speaks Spanish there.
(but they can if they want to)

⚠️ I don’t have to ≠ I mustn’t ⚠️

Mustn’t” means a rule, a law, you can’t do something because it’s wrong:

1️⃣ You mustn’t park your car here. It isn’t a parking lot.

2️⃣ They mustn’t smoke inside, it’s illegal.

Try in the comments ⬇️
I’ll check 👌🏻☺️

#grammar@lazycoursefeps
#val_corrects

@lazy.course | FEPS

17 Dec, 16:53

Say “has to” when you use “he, she, it”:

1️⃣
My friend has to call her office before she can tell me the answer.

2️⃣ It has to be right! I’ve checked it many times!

My sister have to go
We has to go back

#grammar@lazycoursefeps

@lazy.course | FEPS

17 Dec, 11:32

Use “have to” to talk about your responsibilities, something you need to do, for example:

1️⃣ I have to send emails to the clients every day; it’s a part of my job. 📧

2️⃣ I have to go home early today because I promised my husband to cook his favorite meal. 🥘

⚠️ After “have to” use a verb without any endings or different forms:

I have to going
I have to went

Now you try in the comments ⬇️
What do you have to do?

What I love about television is that you don’t choose what to watch 📺

You get the opportunity to watch something new, explore

So, last night I was browsing through channels and stopped at the one with cheesy, romantic comedies 🥰 We ended up watching the whole movie that was on 🎥

It’s a sweet, kind, and funny story about a woman who was left by her fiancé days before they were going to meet her family. She couldn’t face the embarrassment, so she found a solution 💡

If you have a mood for a good little romantic comedy, definitely consider this one ☝🏻

I finished a book today 📕

It’s a sad story from one point of view. But it’s a happy one from the other. 👀

It’s not a story that shook me to my core or anything, I wouldn’t even recommend it if you have other choices 😅 But I didn’t have any, I just saw a book in English, and gave it a try 📚

Some phrases caught my attention, you can see them in the pictures

It’s my second book this year. And I’m proud of myself! It’s two more than last year 😁

@lazy.course | FEPS

“Why are these reactions so important?” ⬇️

I can give you a long answer, or a short one. Which one do you prefer?

Short one: imagine you helped someone, held the door in a store, or explained a difficult topic to a classmate, or absolutely anything else. Imagined? And now imagine that this person just leaves. No “thank you”, no “I appreciate that”, nothing. This is the way I feel when I see no reactions 🙄

This channel is an amazing place for you to practice, you can get so much! Even if you just scroll up when you are bored or have some free time, you will see posts in English - here is your reading practice, audio messages - here comes your listening practice, useful links, videos, cool apps, recommendations, tips… You can even join the chat and record voice messages to practice your speaking! And all of it for free!

When I was learning, I could only dream about a platform like that. There were no good apps, no channels, no teachers who were willing to share their experiences for free 🙈

And all I ask in return is a reaction. A double click to show your appreciation. Is that a lot? 🤔

So, if it annoys you that I remind about them, feel free to leave the channel. I am not holding anyone hostage here, you know? 😅

And thank you to everyone who leaves reactions! 🙏🏻 I appreciate it very much 😍

Have an amazing day!

I haven’t a cat.

When you use “have” as a regular verb to talk about possessions, and want to make it negative - you have to follow the regular rules of negative verbs.

Is it correct to say “I workn’t” or “I drinkn’t”? No. The same with haven’t”:

I don’t drink.
I don’t work.
I don’t have.

- But I hear it from people all the time!

No, what you hear is a part of Present Perfect or Present Perfect Continuous:

I haven’t heard this song before.
I haven’t been ordering food lately.
