‏۹۳ سال پیش در نوروز ۱۳۱۱ خورشیدی، ایرانیان اولین اسکناس‌هایی را در دست گرفتند که امتیاز انحصار چاپش نه دست انگلیسی‌ها که در اختیار بانک ملی ایران بود.

یکی از مهمترین کارهای دولت رضاشاه بزرگ که کمتر بدان پرداخته شده، لغو امتیاز ننگین انحصار چاپ اسکانس ایران بود که از دوره قاجار به انگلیس داده شده بود.

در سال ۱۳۰۹ خورشیدی امتیاز انحصار چاپ اسکناس با پرداخت مبلغی غرامت از بانک شاهی (متعلق به انگلیس) ستانده و به بانک ملی ایران داده شد.

در سال ۱۳۱۰ خورشیدی بانک ملی ایران که دیگر صاحب امتیاز انحصار چاپ اسکناس‌های ایران شده بود، اولین اسکناس‌ها را آماده کرد که از اوایل فروردین ۱۳۱۱ خورشیدی در سراسر ایران توزیع شد.
