CLUB STATEMENT

Kerala Blasters FC has raised concerns over the poor condition of the pitch at the Kaloor International Stadium. The playing surface has also been amongst the best in the country year on year, however multiple inspections conducted before the ISL match scheduled for Monday, have revealed a sorry state of affairs.

Conduct of a third-party non-sporting event on the field of play in the recent past has resulted in damages which are unwanted for the club and for the Indian Super League. The club has also taken note that there were no precautionary measures taken to prevent the same.

Currently, the Blasters’ pitch team is working tirelessly, day and night, to restore the pitch to match-ready condition, which has resulted in the incurring of significant monetary charges.

Purushothaman Coach 🗣️ It was a difficult match, an away game as well. We dominated the game but we got red card and we were little struggling. The boys are really talented and technically sound so they can be flexible to all tactics we use...

The boys made it quite natural and in a way what we needed and we achieved it. It was a teamwork and we achieved it as a team.

It's not regarding Indian players or foreign players, we are playing against a team and we have to overcome that team we need some specific things to still improve and we are on it and hopefully it will come.

Lucky that we were defensively organised and made a clean sheet, it's good for the team. Red cards happens some times, not pointing someone or something but it's all for the team. We have to overcome all obstacles to achieve and teamwork is the most important thing.

We can't make a lot of changes in one or two week. It will take time and for next matches we will be better little by little. Luna is an outstanding player we don't need to teach him what he have to do. We have to plan our attacking formats and we will do it.

Mikael Stahre 🗣️ “You have to see every goal conceeded in seperate way. We didn't conceede that many chances but we still conceeded many goals. We hardly conceeded any goal chances against BFC. The only goal I didn't like was the first goal against mumbai. We were too soft.

You always analyse it afterwards and if I go again (Mumbai) probably I would go with back 4 again. The game against BFC was one of the best games we played and it was not a hard decision to keep the same shape to keep up the momentum.
