So when a stock is near any resistance, it always good to book some gains

Also, for short term traders specially, when a stock has given decent move in few days/weeks- good to book some and trail rest(TSL)

This way you will be able to save your gains and won't end up in loss eventually when market starts to fall.

HOW NOT TO GET STUCK IN STOCKS ⚡️

Getting stuck in a stock- where your capital is tied up in a losing or stagnant position for a long time- can be frustrating. Here’s how to avoid it:

1. Have a Clear Exit Plan (Before Entering)

- Set a Stop-Loss(SL): Decide the maximum loss you are willing to take before entering a trade (e.g, 8-10% below entry price).

- Define a Target Price: Know where you plan to take profits instead of holding indefinitely. Partial Profit booking and Trailing SL also helps saving your gains.

2. Position Sizing & Diversification

- Don’t put all your money in one stock-> Diversify

3. Avoid Emotional Trading

- Don't hold onto a losing stock just because you don’t want to book a loss.

- Don't hold stocks in the hope of them coming back to your buying price.

- Stay disciplined and follow your plan.

✅ Accept Small Losses: Cut losses early before they become big.

✅ Re-Evaluate the Stock: If the fundamentals or technicals are weak, exit instead of waiting.

✅ Look for Better Opportunities: Don’t let stuck capital prevent you from investing in stronger stocks.

✅ Use SL & Trailing SL: Protect your capital instead of hoping for a recovery.

Key Rule: Trade based on what the market is showing you, not on what you wish would happen!

Most of the stocks should move up soon, But some of them might take a long time to do so.

SL/TSL are very important specially if you are a short term trader

Its always better to take 5% SL rather than waiting and hoping for the stock to come back to the cost price.

If you are in decent profit, try to book partially and do not re-invest that amount in trading

Coz doing so means you are now all in with bigger capital which includes ur hard earned profit as well

Now when there are days like today, the loss amount looks bigger on screen

To avoid this, take out atleast 50% of your profit on timely basis and re-invest that into Long term or Mutual Funds.
