Every year on the 1st day of the 1st month of the lunar calendar, the New Year is celebrated in East Asia. In 2025, the New Year will be on January 29, when the dragon will be replaced by the snake.🐍🏮

The School of Asian Studies of the Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs, the Directorate for Internationalization, HSE Chinese Club, HSE Japanese Club and HSE Korean Club invite you to take part in the solemn celebration of the arrival of spring on February 1 at 13:30.🧧

🏮The program of the Eastern New Year includes:
- interesting master classes broadly representing various traditions and customs of China, Korea, Japan and some SEA countries;
- fun games for children and adults;
- participation in a tea ceremony;
- acquaintance with the art of Chinese, Korean and Japanese calligraphy;
- festive concert and much more.

📍The event will take place at: Pokrovsky Boulevard. 11, building 6, Center of Cultures of the HSE University.

Sign a contract with your service provider
To issue a new SIM card or re-issue an old one, go to the office of your mobile operator:

- confirmed account on Gosusluga (State Services)
- confirmed biometrics
- e-mail address to which you have access
- IMEI of the device in which you plan to use the SIM card
Study and sign the drawn up agreement. Activate the SIM card at the operator's office or by yourself on Gosuslugi.

That is why it’s important to always stay alert! Let’s see how we can protect ourselves from phone and internet scammers 📞💻

❗️Don’t Trust Unfamiliar Numbers: be careful when you get an unknown caller asking you to buy or do something. In these cases, never share your personal information, such as credit card number or ID number, and do not transfer money to strangers;

❗️ Verify Information: if you get an alleged call from a bank or any other organization, call the official number of the company to confirm whether they were actually the ones who made that call

❗️ Avoid Suspicious Links in messages and emails: this could be an attempt to steal your personal data. Always make sure that the website address you want to access starts with https://

❗️ Use Strong Passwords: your passwords should include letters, numbers, and special characters. Never reuse passwords across different accounts and make sure to enable two-factor authentication (2FA) wherever possible!

❗️ Regularly Update Antivirus Software: ensure that you have reliable antivirus software installed on your computer and that it is updated to the latest version
Stay Informed: the more you know about how scammers operate, the easier it will be to recognize their tactics

Today we are starting a series of posts dedicated to Russian fine arts 🎨- a vibrant phenomenon that encapsulates the country's artistic journey, marked by a blend of traditional and modern influences. You might have acquainted with some of these masterpieces at our Russian Culture Day.

The series of samples of Russian fine arts showcases the rich cultural heritage and diverse artistic expressions that have emerged from Russia over the centuries. From the detailed religious icons to the daring designs of modern art, these works reflect Russia's complex past, social changes, and unique aesthetics.🪆

Medical examination is a mandatory annual procedure for all foreign students studying in Russia. Adult foreign citizens who have entered the 1st year of studies in Moscow campus in 2024 for budgetary places within the quota of the Russian Government can undergo the medical examination procedure free of charge (at the expense of the HSE University) in the period from September 1 through December 20, 2024 🎉 .

🥳 HSE Unity Fest 2024 has come to an end! 🥳

In early November, the HSE Cultural Centre hosted a festival of multinational culture.🌐More than forty national clubs took part in it. The participants showed all the beauty of their traditions: bright costumes, songs in different languages, folk dances, workshops and national treats. We tried to preserve these moments in our photographs.

The first day of the festival was devoted to getting to know each other's cultures. Guests could try calligraphy or amulet weaving, as well as taste national dishes.🍲

The second day became a real celebration. 💃🏽 Each club prepared a creative performance full of love for their homeland. Bright costumes, fiery dances and heartfelt songs — all this created a unique festive atmosphere. The festival ended with dancing to national music.

🌟Unity Day🌟 is an important national holiday in Russia, which since 2005 we celebrate annually on the 4th of November.

Today this celebration symbolizes the importance of unity among the multicultural population of Russia and reminds us that together we are able to overcome any difficulty.🫂

On this day all over the country, people organize various events, such as concerts, exhibitions, and parades, in honour of the holiday.
