If the first trade is secured at break-even (and stop loss is not moved later) and the second position has a stop loss set (also not moved), the risk of the trade idea would very likely be the loss set by the second stop loss set.

B) Another example: if I am long on XAU/USD with an unrealized loss (still below 1%) and I wish to increase my exposure, can I do so within less than 30 minutes? Or do I need to wait longer than 30 minutes?
- You can. However, the risk of the trade idea would be calculated as the combined loss on the sop losses or the maximum drawdown experienced. In case the second trade has a Stop Loss set, the risk is essentially the sum of the losses of all stop losses. If the second trade does not have a Stop Loss set, the risk of the trade idea would be calculated based on the maximum combined drawdown of the positions.
Example: If the first trade had SL at -0.8%, you could only reinforce the second trade by trading with SL at -0.2% to be within the allowed risk per trade limit.

C) Another question: if I take three stop losses in a single day on the same asset, with at least a 30-minute gap between each trade, is this allowed?
- This is not a problem. We understand some days are not great, and multiple losses are incurred. We do not like traders who use very high risk and essentially gamble with the accounts. You should always trade the account as if this was your own live account of large value for you, with appropriate risk management and the account longevity as your priority.

D) If I take a 1% loss on XAU/USD and then want to trade another precious metal within less than 30 minutes, is that allowed?
- There is no 100% valid answer here, but for most times, this would be considered as same trade idea and the risk of the idea would be calculated from the rules above (combination of risks of these trades).
Gold and silver have high correlations. Most times, XPD and XPT can decouple from gold, but they are often moving in the same direction. To stay on the safe side, you can think of all of these as correlated.

E) Lastly, could you please clarify where this rule is stated on your website or in the FTMO contract I signed? I am having difficulty understanding and locating it.
- Currently, the 1% risk limitation is not defined in our GTC, it will be released with the next version which should be out within a few weeks.
We sent the first official notice to you regarding the problematic parts of the trading (as defined in GTC & contract in the section "Forbidden Trading Practices") on email thread ticketed BWJ-CGQDH-547 on May 21st, 2024 and asked you to change your trading.
The second notice was sent to you on an email thread ticketed XKX-BNCRF-500 on September 30th, 2024. In this email, we once again raised our concerns and conditioned the continuation of our business relationship by adopting the maximum risk per trade idea at 1%, which you accepted. (screenshot attached).

If you have any further questions, let us know so we can clarify them to avoid any possible disappointments in the future.

Dear Jason Antony,

Let me provide further clarifications on the topics you inquired about.

Risk per trade idea:

Individual positions: For individual positions, risk per trade idea is calculated as the higher of either the loss on Stop Loss or maximum drawdown experienced by the trade.
Example 1: You hold a trade without setting a stop loss. Trade experiences a maximum drawdown of 0.8%; thus, the trade is assigned a 0.8% risk per trade.
Example 2: You hold a trade and set Stop Loss at a loss of 1%. The trade only experiences a drawdown of 0.3% and then goes into profit. The trade is assigned a 1% risk as per Stop Loss.
Aggregated (stacked) positions: In case you hold positions in the same symbol at the same time, the combined risk of the positions (calculated as a sum of individual risks of each position) is assessed. Currently, we have an automated system that flags the accounts for further review based on drawdowns experienced by single positions, but during human reviews, Stop Losses are also taken into account.
Example 1: You open a trade with a 0.5% loss on Stop Loss. The trade goes into profit, and thus, you decide to add another position in the same direction with a Stop Loss of 0.5%. The risk of the trade idea (the combination of the trades) is 1%
Example 2: You open a trade with a 0.5% loss on Stop Loss. The trade goes into profit, and thus, you decide to lock your trade with SL at breakeven and add in another position in the same direction with a Stop Loss of 0.5%. The risk of the trade idea (the combination of the trades) is 1%
Trade Continuation: In case your trade ends with a loss, and you open another trade in the same direction within 30 minutes of the previous trade closure, the risk of the trade idea is calculated as the sum of the losses of already closed positions and the individual risk of the latest position.
Example 1: You open a buy trade with SL at 0.8% and decide to cut the loss earlier, with a realised loss of 0.6%. 2 minutes later, you open another buy trade with SL at 0.5%. The risk of this trade idea (carried out by continuation trades) is 1.1% (calculated as the sum of the realised loss of 0.6% from the first trade and the individual risk of the second trade at SL is 0.5%)
Highly correlated pairs: If you open individual positions on instruments that are very highly correlated, the risk of the trade idea is calculated as the sum of the individual positions with the same rules as in 1,2 and 3. Highly correlated pairs are the pairs that are currently not exactly defined, but we are fairly lenient there. The correlated symbols share the same base or profit currency for forex or underlying market for non-FX symbols.
Example 1: If you open trades in the same direction that overlap positions or continue trades in XAUUSD, XAUEUR, or XAUAUD, these will be assessed as correlated (a play on gold), and the risk will be calculated as a sum of individual positions according to the same rules as above.
Example 2: If you open trades in the same direction that overlap positions or continue trades in US500.cash, US100.cash, or US30.cash, these will be assessed as correlated (a play on the US stock market), and the risk will be calculated as a sum of individual positions according to the same rules as above.

Now, with the general logic explained, let me answer your specific questions.

A) If I am short on XAU/USD with an unrealized profit and my stop loss is at breakeven (meaning there is no longer any risk on this position), can I add to this trade in the same direction within less than 30 minutes? If not, do I need to wait 30 minutes before adding to the trade?
- If you hold multiple positions open at the same time, these are assessed based on the logic described in Aggregated (stacked) positions. The risk of the combination of the positions (=trade idea) is calculated as the higher of either the highest drawdown experienced by the sum of the trades or the highest drawdown set at Stop Losses of the trades.
