@IMDbOT was written using more than 3 year old codes, and we kept patching the code to maintain backward compatibility with all the old features.

We were ignoring this issue, for sometime hoping that it is temporary, but unfortunately it cannot be solved in @IMDbOT, because of the way in which the old outdated codes were written.
