2025 NEW YEAR MESSAGE: TO THE IJESA YOUTHS BY THE PRESIDENT OF OMO OWA OMO EKUN YOUTHS OF IJESALAND.

My fellow Youths of Ijesaland, I say a very happy and prosperous New Year to you all.

I would like to thank and honour the Almighty who saw us through the year 2024 and has given us the opportunity to see another year. Each new Year is an opportunity to reflect on the past year, reposition, and move forward with the new energy and aspirations.

As we celebrate the opportunity to be alive in the year 2025, we must also acknowledge the passing away of our brothers and sisters, most especially Our royal father, Owa Aromolaran II who didnโ€™t make it into this new year. May their souls rest in perfect peace.

Without any delay, a new year has started already, let's learn from our past mistakes, let's unite ourselves as one, the ethos of Omoluwabi must be revealed in our daily lives. Peace and unity of Ijesa must be of paramount to us all, we need each other to survive this new year.

I also use this medium to call upon everyone of us to support our newly installed royal father, the 41st Owa Obokun Adimula of Ijesaland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Clement Adesuyi Haastrup Ajimoko III, may Olodumare grant him the enablements to take Ijesaland to greater heights, Amen.

Once again, I wish you a happy and prosperous year 2025.

The newly appointed Owa Obokun Adimula of Ijesaland, Oba Adesuyi Haastrup, was officially presented with the Staff of Office and Instrument of Appointment on Sunday, marking the beginning of his reign in a grand ceremony attended by distinguished Nigerians from various sectors.

Oba Haastrup, in his inaugural address, vowed to tackle land grabbing and unveiled plans to establish a vocational school for artisans to boost local production.

The Staff of Office was presented by Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, in the presence of eminent traditional rulers, including the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi; the Orangun of Ila, Oba Wahab Adedotun; and the Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrosheed Akanbi.

Held at the entrance of Obokungbusi Town Hall, Ilesa, the event also featured other notable monarchs such as the Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Oyetunji; Orangun of Oke Ila, Oba Adedokun Abolarin; and Owaloko of Iloko Ijesa, Oba Akeem Ogungbangbe.

In his acceptance speech, Oba Haastrup called for unity, declaring, โ€œThe time for contest is over. For me, there is โ€˜No Victor, No Vanquished.โ€™ Let us unite to build a stronger and more prosperous future for Ijesaland.โ€

The monarch also unveiled a strategic policy direction to promote economic growth through agriculture, agro-allied industries, and creative development ventures.

He reiterated a zero-tolerance stance on land grabbing, emphasizing, โ€œThere shall be no land grabbing in my name or in the name of others, no matter how highly placed.โ€
Following the ceremony, the Owa Obokun Media Office announced that Oba Haastrup would immediately proceed to seclusion for traditional rites, with his coronation ceremony to be held at a later date.

The office added that details of the coronation would be announced after the completion of the seclusion period.

Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke has approved with immediate effect, the appointments of both Prince Adesuyi Haastrup as the new Owa Obokun Adimula of Ijesha land and Prince Johnson Adekanmi Abikoye as the new Asaoni of Ora Igbomina

A press statement issued by the Hon.Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Oluomo Kolapo Alimi, to that effect, indicates that the approval of the two monarchs was ratified and approved during the seating of the Osun State Executive Council Meeting presided over by its Chairman and Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke this afternoon.

Breaking: This accident just happened now at Imo road, Ilesha, the BikeMan tried to overtake the vehicle in the front then he rammed into this incoming truck ๐Ÿšš on the other lane. No life lost but the Bikeman and the guy he carried was injured seriously. They have been taken to the nearest hospital.
