Invitation to Project Showcase
Bound to Bond
17 Feb 2025
SDE4 Level 3 Café
6.30pm to 8pm
The Division of Industrial Design presents a joint endeavour with Crystal International Group Limited, Bound to Bond, an exhibition that investigates textile products through the lens of bonding. While textiles are often associated with fashion, style, and identity, they are also highly technical, made possible through specialized materials and bonding technologies. From everyday apparel and accessories to functional gear like raincoats, travel pillows, and knee guards, bonding methods define how textiles serve both aesthetic and practical needs.
In this exhibition, student designers and researchers seek to investigate emerging and existing bonding technologies through three distinct approaches – Digital Fabrication, Material Exploration, and Experimental Craft.
