Barriera is thrilled to introduce two artists in residency for the period of September-October 2024: artist and musician Anastasia Kreslina (@ndless), 1/2 of audiovisual project IC3PEAK,. With a series of collaborative events organized between Milan and Turin, the residency presents archival material alongside newly commissioned works, introducing the artists practices to Italian and international context.
Launched in 2024 by Katya Kabalina and Sergey Kantsedal, the residency is a new format, developed in response to contemporary challenges of war, repression, and the normalisation of violence—issues that have profoundly impacted our lives in recent years, personally and professionally. Grounded in the concept of radical hospitality, Barriera’s informal and horizontally structured approach to curating aims to provide a safe and inclusive space for the exchange of diverse ideas and practices among artists, musicians, curators, and writers, fostering independent networks and micro-communities.
