Hi everyone, it’s been awhile since I last visited the group. I apologize for not being able to follow the project during the last few days, and I am writing to details the situation that led me to this stage.
As most of you knew, HYSS posted about an AMA with Travladd but we took it down the day after. I was the one who reached out and contacted Travladd’s representative, Mr Benson. He agreed to the AMA and time and I paid fully. Because I haven’t worked with the Travladd team before, I did not know that we are not allowed to post anything about the AMA until they do. I remember not reading any warning about this from our chat so I went ahead and announced the AMA. The next day, Mr Benson told me that it was not acceptable and he canceled the AMA.
When I check the chat history again, then I can see the warning in a message that was edited. At this point, I confess that I cannot remember if it is me or Mr Benson’s fault. Regardless of the real cause, Mr Benson refused to work for a solution with our team and does not offer any refund. He also became very difficult to reach, regularly not seeing our messages for days. The fleeting announcement that we posted about the AMA honestly did not create any significant price pump, we feel that we deserve their cooperation again or some kind of compensation.
The team treated this as a big incident and forced me to take full responsibility both literally and financially. The deal with Travladd was more expensive than my salary working for the project so it was a great shock for me. I made a grave mistake as the head of marketing and lost the trust of my team members. I am not a strong person and have a history of combating mental illness since my college days. The incident and the financial burden that it brought ravaged me to the core, making my depression come back in full force. I was the mastermind behind HYSS marketing plan, but I was unable to think straight or aid in the hiring and transition of my work to a new person. Plus, I have to receive too many racist remarks or criticism from everyone since even before HYSS launched, but I was unable to continue to handle such stress. My depression is so severe that I became afraid to check messages, reply to emails, do daily tasks, let alone contacting our partners or plan new tasks.
I am very sorry that I have let you all down. It is not my intention but my mentality is not strong enough to handle the situation. The CEO contacted me today explaining that the team have been postponing most marketing activities to work on the game development. The remaining team members are inexperienced with planning and they thought that more marketing before the real game utility will just create a short term pump & dump. The team is also waiting for me to come back and offer to clear my responsibility from the Travladd incident so that I can recover and lead once again. I will try to gather myself up and come back to work in a couple of days. My comeback will correspond with the game testing too, which I learned today from the developer that is nearly finished, so please expect a new marketing campaign to create hype for our product.
