A Story Of How The Prophet ﷺ Protected His Daughter Fatimah From her Proposal🍂

Ali bin Husain رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَ said that Miswar bin Makhramah told him that: Ali bin Abu Talib رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ proposed to the daughter of Abu Jahl, when he was married to Fatimah رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا the daughter of the Prophet ﷺ. When Fatimah heard of that she went to the Prophet, and said: "Your people are saying that you do not feel angry for your daughters.

This Ali is going to marry the daughter of Abu Jahl." Miswar said: "The Prophet ﷺ stood up, and I heard him when he bore witness (i.e., said the Shahadah), then he said: 'I married my daughter (Zainab رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا) to Abul-As bin Rabi', and he spoke to me and was speaking the truth. Fatimah bint Muhammad رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا is a part of me, and I hate to see her faced with troubles. By Allah, the daughter of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and the daughter of the enemy of Allah will never be joined together in marriage to one man."

He said: “So, Ali abandoned the marriage proposal.”

The Palaces and Tents of Paradise🥀

Allah (ﷻ) will build good and beautiful dwellings for the people of Paradise:

“and beautiful mansions in Gardens of everlasting bliss”

[📚 Ṣurātul Taubāh:72]

In some places in the Qur’an, Allah (ﷻ) described these dwellings as ghurafaat [chambers or dwellings]:

“and they will reside in the high dwellings [Paradise] in peace and security.”

[📚 Ṣurātul Sabā:37]

The reward for the slaves of the all-Merciful will be:

“Those will be rewarded with the highest place [in Paradise] because of their patience. Therein they shall be met with greetings and the word of peace and respect”

[📚 Ṣurātul Furqān:75]

Allah (ﷻ) described these Ghurafaat:

“But for those who fear Allah and keep their duty to their Rabb [Allah], for them are built lofty rooms, one above the other, under which rivers flow. [This is] the Promise of Allah, and Allah does not fail in [His] Promise.”

[📚 Ṣurātul Zumār:20]

Ibn Katheer said: “Allah has told us about His blessed slaves who will have rooms [or dwellings] in Paradise: these will be lofty palaces, “lofty rooms, one above another – story upon story, well-constructed, strong and decorated. The Prophet (ﷺ) described these palaces to us. According to a hadith narrated by Ahmad, and Ibn Hibbaan from Abu Maalik al-Ash’ari and by at-Tirmidhi from ‘Ali (رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ) the Prophet (ﷺ) said:

“In Paradise there are dwellings whose inside can be seen from the outside, and the outside can be seen from inside. Allah [ﷻ] has prepared them for those who feed the hungry, and speak softly and gently, fast continuously and pray at night whilst the people are asleep.”

[📚Saheeh al-Jaami’ as-Sagheer, 2/220, no. 2119]

Allah (ﷻ) has told us that there are tents or pavilions in Paradise:

“Houris [beautiful, fair females] restrained in pavilions”

[📚Ṣurātul Rahmān:72]

These pavilions are wondrous tents, made of pearls, each one is made from a single, hollowed-out pearl. They are sixty miles high; according to some reports they are sixty miles wide. al-Bukhaari reports from ‘Abdullaah ibn Qays that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “The tent is a hollowed out pearl, thirty miles high; in each corner of it the believer will have a wife whom no one else can see” Abu ‘Abdus-Samad and al-Haarith reported from Abu ‘Imraan that the wording was “sixty miles high”

[📚Sahih al-Bukhaari, Kitaab Bid’ al-Khalq, Baab Sifaat al-Jannah, Fath al-Baari, 6/318]

Muslim reported from ‘Abdullaah ibn Qays that the Prophet (ﷺ) said:

“The believer in Paradise will have a tent made out of a single, hollowed-out pearl, sixty miles long, in which he will have [a number of] wives, whom he will visit in turn, none of whom will see the others”

[📚see also Muslim, Kitaab al-Jannah, Baab fi Sifaat Khiyaam al-Jannah, 4/2182, no. 2838]

The Prophet (ﷺ) told us about the characteristics of the palaces of some of his wives and companions. al-Bukhaari and Muslim report that Abu Hurayrah (رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ) said, “Jibreel came to the Prophet (ﷺ) said: "O Messenger of Allah, Khadeejah is coming, carrying a container of food. When she comes to you, convey to her greetings of peace from her Rabb and from me, and give her the glad tidings of a house in Paradise made of brocade, in which there is no noise or exhaustion.”

[📚Mishkaat al-Masaabeeh, 3/266]

Muslim, Abu Dawud, Ahmad, an-Nasaa’ee, and Ibn Maajah report from Umm Habeebah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “Whoever prays twelve extra [supererogatory] rak’ahs every day, Allah (ﷻ) will build for him a house in Paradise.”

The Means of attaining the Ghuraf (High Lofty Mansions) in Jannah🍂

Abu Sa’eed al-Khudri (رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ) narrated that the Prophet (ﷺ) said:

“The People of Paradise will look at the dwellers of the lofty mansions (i.e. a superior place in Paradise) in the same way as one looks at a brilliant star far off in the East and West on the horizon; all that is because of their superiority over one another (in rewards).” On that the people said: “O Allaah’s Messenger (ﷺ)! Are these lofty mansions for the Prophets which nobody else can reach?”

The Prophet (ﷺ) replied: “No! By Allaah, in Whose Hands my life is, these are for the men who believed in Allaah and believed in the Messengers.”

[📚Al-Bukhaari no. 3256]

Commentary:🍂

First: In Jannah, people will have different grades according to the strength of their belief and love of Allaah. Some people will be in a position near that of the Prophets because they perfected their Imaan in Allaah. The dwellings (mansions) of Jannah are of different kinds: There are tents, castles (palaces), houses, and Ghuraf. The Ghuraf are the highest ranks as the Prophet (ﷺ) affirmed in this Hadeeth and in another Hadeeth reported by Al-Bukhaari that he (ﷺ) said: “The dwellers of Jannah will see the upper abodes of Jannah as you see the stars in the sky.”

[📚Al-Bukhaari no. 6555].

And in another narration, he (ﷺ) said: “As you see a shining star remaining in the eastern horizon and the western horizon.”

[📚Al-Bukhaari no. 6556]

Second: The Description of the Ghuraf

The Messenger of Allaah (ﷺ) said: “Shall I tell you about the Ghuraf of Jannah? In Jannah there are Ghuraf (chambers) made up of different types of jewels, whose insides can be seen from the outside and whose outside can be seen from the inside. In them there are delights, enjoyments, and honor that no eye has ever seen, and no ear has ever heard.”

TRIALS HAVE THREE BENEFITS 🍂

1. It Is An Expiation of Sins

2. It Is A Reminder From Headlessness

3. It Raises One’s Rank In Paradise

The Prophet (ﷺ) said:

"If a certain status has previously been decreed by Allah for a person, and he does not attain it by his deeds, Allah afflicts him in his body, or wealth, or children.. Then He makes him bear it with patience.. Until He causes him to reach the status that Allah had previously decreed for him."

Virtues of Tawbā (Repentance) & Istigfār (Seeking Forgiveness)🥀

Forgiveness and Pardon Allah (ﷻ‎) says:

وَمَن يَعْمَلْ سُوٓءًا أَوْ يَظْلِمْ نَفْسَهُۥ ثُمَّ يَسْتَغْفِرِ ٱللَّهَ يَجِدِ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورًا رَّحِيمًا

“And whoever does a wrong or wrongs himself but then seeks forgiveness of Allah will find Allah Forgiving and Merciful.”

[📚Ān-Niṣa: 4:110]

Narrated Abu Huraira (رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ) Said: I heard the Prophet (ﷺ) saying:

“If somebody commits a sin and then says: ‘O my Lord! I have sinned, please forgive me!’ and his Lord says: ‘My slave has known that he has a Lord who forgives sins and punishes for it, I therefore have forgiven my slave (his sins).’…”

[📚Sahih al-Bukhari 7507]

Abu Sa’id al-Khudri رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ reported: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:

“Satan said: By Your might, O Lord, I will continue to mislead the children of Adam, as long as their souls are in their bodies. The Lord said: By My might and majesty, I will continue to forgive them, as long as they seek My forgiveness.”

Anas (رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ) reported: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:

“Allah is more delighted at the repentance of His servant than one of you who lost his riding animal on a journey in a barren land while it carries his food and drink. He loses all hope as he comes to a tree to lie down in its shade, despairing over his animal, but suddenly he finds it standing over him. FORCED MARRIAGE IS HARAAM 🚫

🔐 The father or the guardian cannot give a virgin or previously-married women in marriage without her consent. They should seek the permission of a previously-married woman in words, and of a virgin by silence

The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said:

"A woman without a husband (or divorced or a widow) must not be married until she is consulted, and a virgin must not be married until her permission is sought."

They asked the Prophet of Allah (ﷺ): "How her (virgin's) consent can be given (because she will feel very shy)?" He (ﷺ) said: "That she keeps silence."

Narrated Aisha (رضى الله عنها):

I asked the Prophet: "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! Should the women be asked for their consent to their marriage?"
He (ﷺ) said: "Yes."

I said: "A virgin, if asked, feels shy and keeps quiet." He (ﷺ) said: "Her silence means her consent."

Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: "It is sufficient for one to recite the last two Verses of Surat-al-Baqara at night."

📚Sahih al-Bukhari 4008

The Prophet ﷺ believes in what has been sent down to him from his Lord, and (so do) the believers. Each one believes in Allah, His Angels, His Books, and His Messengers ﷺ They say, "We make no distinction between one another of His Messengers" - and they say, "We hear, and we obey. (We seek) Your Forgiveness, our Lord, and to You is the return (of all)."

📚Surah Al-Baqara, Verse 285

Allah burdens not a person beyond his scope. He gets reward for that (good) which he has earned, and he is punished for that (evil) which he has earned. "Our Lord! Punish us not if we forget or fall into error, our Lord! Lay not on us a burden like that which You did lay on those before us (Jews and Christians); our Lord! Put not on us a burden greater than we have strength to bear. Pardon us and grant us Forgiveness. Have mercy on us. You are our Maula (Patron, Suppor-ter and Protector, etc.) and give us victory over the disbelieving people.

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:

And indeed, the most disliked among you to me, and the one sitting furthest from me on the Day of Judgement are the Tharthārūn, and the Mutashaddiqūn, and the Mutafaihiqūn."

They said: "O Messenger of Allah! We know about the Tharthārūn (those who are excessive in speech) and the Mutashaddiqūn (those who talk about people unnecessarily and reviles them) but what about the Mutafaihiqūn?"

He (ﷺ) said: "The arrogant."

HOW TO BE GOOD TO PARENTS 💕

• Showing birr (piety) to them is by obeying whatever they ask of you and tell you to do, as long as it is not something forbidden.

• Their instructions should be given preference over optional (nawaafil) prayers.

• Stay away from what they
prohibit you.

• Spend on them.

• Seek out for the things they like.

• Serve them excessively.

• Observe respect and dignity with them.

• Don't raise your voice or stare (in an unloving manner) at them.

• Don't call them by their names.

• Walk behind them.

• Be patient over anything they do that you dislike.

SURAH AL FATIHA

On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ) from the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), who said:

"A prayer performed by someone who has not recited the opening chapter of al-Qur'an (Surah Fatiha) during it, is deficient (and he repeated the word three times), incomplete."

Someone said to Abu Hurayrah (رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ): "(Even though) we are behind the imam?"

He (رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ) said: "Recite it to yourself, for I have heard the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) say:

Allah (ﷻ) had said: “I have divided prayer between Myself and My servant into two halves, and My servant shall have what he has asked for.

When the servant says:

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ

(Alhamdu lillahi Rabbil Alameem | All praise is due to Allah the Lord of the worlds)

Allah (ﷻ) says: “My servant has praised Me„

And when he says:

The True Value of This Earthly Life

Allah ﷻ says:

Beautified for men is the love of things they covet; women, children, Qanatir Al-Muqantarah of gold and silver, branded beautiful horses (Musawwamah), cattle and fertile land.

Allah ﷻ mentions the delights that He put in this life for people, such as women and children, and He started with women, because the test with them is more tempting.

For instance, the Sahih recorded that the Messenger (ﷺ)said:

مَا تَرَكْتُ بَعْدِي فِتْنَةً أَضَرَّ عَلَى الرِّجَالِ مِنَ النِّسَاء

“I did not leave behind me a test more tempting to men than women.„

When one enjoys women for the purpose of having children and preserving his chastity, then he is encouraged to do so.

There are many Hadiths that encourage getting married, such as:

وَإِنَّ خَيْرَ هذِهِ الاْإُمَّةِ مَنْ كَانَ أَكْثَرَهَا نِسَاء

“Verily, the best members of this Ummah are those who have the most wives„

He (ﷺ) also said:

“This life is a delight, and the best of its delight is a righteous wife„

The Prophet ﷺ said in another Hadith:

حُبِّبَ إِلَيَّ النِّسَاءُ وَالطِّيبُ وَجُعِلَتْ قُرَّةُ عَيْنِي فِي الصَّلَة

“I was made to like women and perfume, and the comfort of my eye is the prayer„

Said:

"Nothing was more beloved to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) than women, except horses,"

and in another narration:

"...than horses except women."

The desire to have children is sometimes for the purpose of pride and boasting, and as such, is a temptation. When the purpose for having children is to reproduce and increase the Ummah of Muhammad ﷺ with those who worship Allah alone without partners, then it is encouraged and praised.

A Hadith states:

“Marry the Wadud (kind) and Walud (fertile) woman, for I will compare your numbers to the rest of the nations on the Day of Resurrection„

The desire of wealth sometimes results out of arrogance, and the desire to dominate the weak and control the poor, and this conduct is prohibited. Sometimes, the want for more money is for the purpose of spending it on acts of worship, being kind to the family, the relatives, and spending on various acts of righteousness and obedience; this behavior is praised and encouraged in the religion.

THERE IS A GREAT WAY TO GET YOUR DUAA ANSWERED 🌤️

1. Sleep With Wudhu

The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said:

"There is no Muslim who sleeps remembering Allah, and in a state of purity (wudhu) then wakes up at night, and asks Allah for good in this world and in the Hereafter, but He will give him that."

📚: Sunan Abi Dawud 5042 | Sahih

2. Practice This If You Wake Up In The Middle of The Night ⤵️

The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said: "Whoever gets up at night and says:

Alhamdulillahi wa subhanallahi wa la ilaha illal lahu, wallahu akbar, wa la hawla wala quwata illa billah || None has the right to be worshipped but Allah. He is the Only One Who has no partners. His is the kingdom and all the praises are for Him. He is Omnipotent. All the praises are for Allah. All the glories are for Allah. And none has the right to be worshipped but Allah, and Allah is the Most Great and there is neither might nor power except with Allah]

And then say: "اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي‏"

[Allahumma ighfir li || Oh Allah forgive me]

Or invokes (Allah), he will be responded to and if he performs ablution (and prays), his prayer will be accepted."

In the Quran you find that Allah uses the plural term for darkness ظلمات while only using the singular term for light نور, so why is that?

Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said:

"This is from the miracles of the Qur'ān because there are many paths that lead to darkness, but only one leads to light."
