📍You can make changes to the following fields right now even if you have already submitted the final application.

No need for the correction window to open-

1. Address Information (Both correspondence Address and Permanent Address can be updated)
2. Photo and Signature
3. Educational Information
4. Documents Uploaded
5. UPSC Examination Information
6. Achievement, Prizes, Medals & others
7. OBC/EWS Annexure

If you make changes to any of the following after submitting the final application, make sure to save a fresh copy of final application and verify whether the updated information reflects in the application.

📍The Core OTR consists of the following details - Candidate and Parents Name,  DOB, Minority Status, Phone Number and Email ID,  Class 10th Roll No. These details can be changed only once on your own, that too till expiry of 7 days from the next day after the closure of application window of your first final application for any Examination of UPSC.

📍Other changes to your application form can be made during the correction window from 12.02.2025 to 18.02.2025.

📍After declaration of Mains result, candidates can update the following details:
1. Correspondence/Permanent Postal Address
2. Higher Educational Qualification
3. Achievement in different fields
4. Employment Details/Service Experience,

Rwanda has successfully contained and declared its first-ever outbreak of Marburg Virus Disease (MVD) officially over after 42 days without new cases.

This achievement was confirmed by the World Health Organization (WHO).

🚨About Marburg Virus Disease (MVD):

🔼 MVD is a severe and often fatal hemorrhagic fever caused by the Marburg virus, with no approved vaccines or treatments currently available.

🔺History and Origin: First identified in 1967 in the German city of Marburg. Named after an outbreak linked to laboratory workers exposed to infected green monkeys imported from Uganda.

✅Geographical spread: Most outbreaks have occurred in sub-Saharan Africa, including countries like Tanzania, Uganda, Angola, Ghana, Kenya, and Zimbabwe.

🔻Transmission: Initially transmitted from fruit bats (Rousettus aegyptiacus) to humans.

Supreme Court Explains 'Henderson Doctrine' : Re-Litigation of Issues That Could Have Been Raised Earlier Is Barred

The Supreme Court recently invoked the Henderson Doctrine while hearing a contempt petition against a borrower and transferee for failing to comply with an order to hand over auction property possession. The respondents attempted to re-litigate the auction's validity, arguing non-compliance with SARFAESI rules.  ✅

The doctrine, rooted in constructive res judicata under Section 11 of the Code of Civil Procedure,1908 (CPC) 

The Court observed that all issues arising from the same subject matter should be addressed in a single proceeding. ✅

➡️In a recent case, the Supreme Court explained Henderson doctrine, a natural corollary of the Indian doctrine of constructive Res-judicata.

🎙About Henderson Doctrine:🔺

❗️Propounded in the English case of Henderson versus Henderson, 1843, the doctrine suggests that all the issues arising in the litigation out of the same subject matter  must be addressed in a single suit. 

🧾The doctrine bars relitigating issues that could or should have been raised in prior proceedings.

🔼It held that where a given matter becomes the subject of litigation 
and the adjudication of a court of competent jurisdiction, the parties so litigating are required to bring forward their whole case.

✅Search and Rescue Aid Tool (SARAT)🚨

Recently, the Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services (INCOIS), under the Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES) has developed a newer version of its own Search and Rescue Aid Tool (SARAT).

☀️About Search and Rescue Aid Tool:

It was launched in 2016 for facilitating the search and rescue operations in the seas to locate individuals/vessels in distress in the shortest possible time.

This has been initiated and developed under the Make in India program and developed by INCOIS

The tool uses model ensembling that accounts for uncertainties in the initial location as well as last known time of the missing object, to locate the person or object with high probability.

The movements of the missing objects are governed mainly by the currents and winds.

🔼 ‘द व्हेजिटेरिअन’ कादंबरी - हान कांग ✍

फक्त १८८ पानांच्या कॅनव्हासवर थेट, सरळसोट वाटणाऱ्या शैलीत ही कादंबरी उलगडत जाते. पण पानोपानी उमटणाऱ्या अर्थगर्भ विधानांतून धक्के मिळत जातात. कुटुंबाच्या वरवरच्या शांततेखाली खदखदणारं बरंच काही जाणवू लागतं. तो याँगच्या तनमनाने जीवहत्येविरुद्ध गाडलेला झेंडा असो, वा कलात्मक व्हिडीओज बनवणाऱ्या मेव्हण्याच्या कामप्रेरणांचा वेगवेगळ्या पातळ्यांवर होणारा उद्रेक असो किंवा जबाबदारीच्या ओझ्याखाली दबून गेलेल्या मोठ्या बहिणीच्या भावनांचा कोंडमारा असो.

हे सगळं कमीतकमी शब्दांत, अमूर्त चित्राची झलक दाखवणाऱ्या ब्रशच्या एखाद्या उत्कट फटकाऱ्यासारखं, आणि परत पूर्वस्वरात निवेदन सुरू होतं…

हे मोजक्या रूपकांमधून उमटत राहणारं मनाचं लँडस्केप! जे शब्दांत आलंय, त्यापेक्षा जे ध्वनित होतंय ते खरं! तो याच नाही तर प्रत्येक कादंबरीचा गाभा, आणि हे हान कांगच्या शैलीचं वैशिष्ट्य. परकीय संस्कृती/ भाषेतल्या या कृतीचा डेब्रा स्मिथचा अनुवाद स्वैर असल्याच्या आरोपांनी विवाद उत्पन्न झाला पण त्याने हान कांग यांना जागतिक पातळीवर पोहोचवण्याचं महत्कार्य केलं खरं. पुढला स्वत:लाच पैलू पाडत जाणारा त्यांचा प्रवास पाहता, या पायरीचं महत्त्व लक्षात येतं.

‘मॅन बुकर’ मिळाल्यावर (२०१६) त्यांच्या पुस्तकांचे अनेक जागतिक भाषांमध्ये अनुवाद झाले, आणि पुस्तकांच्या प्रति स्वदेशी विकू लागल्या.

नोबेलचं मानपत्र म्हणतं – The honour goes to Han Kang for her intense poetic prose that confronts historical traumas and exposes the fragility of human life.

हा बहुमान मिळवणाऱ्या त्या आशियाच्या पहिल्याच लेखिका. आपल्या ‘द व्हेजिटेरिअन’ या कादंबरीसाठी बुकर प्राइझ मिळवणाऱ्याही त्या कोरियाच्या पहिल्याच लेखिका.

त्यांच्या ५ पुस्तकांचे इंग्लिशमध्ये उत्कृष्ट अनुवाद झालेले असूनही भारतात फारशा चर्चित नसलेल्या. पण तसंही म्हणता येत नाही, कारण या कादंबरीचे अनुवाद तामीळ आणि मल्याळममध्ये प्रकाशित झाले आहेत आणि हिंदीमध्ये काही कविता!


प्रथम कथेच्या रूपात आलेल्या ‘द व्हेजिटेरिअन’चं मूळ देशी काही फारसं स्वागत झालं नव्हतं. कारण हेही असेल की या संस्कृतीत ‘शाकाहार’ हा एक अतर्क्य, आचरट प्रकार वाटत असावा, कादंबरीच्या नायिकेसारखाच.

याँग ही एक संवेदनशील तरुणी, अतिसामान्य रूप-रंगाची. ‘मरणात तसं वाईट काय आहे?’सारख्या इतर कोणाला न पडणाऱ्या प्रश्नांचं थैमान डोक्यात घेऊन वावरणारी. कहाणी तिची आहे, पण क्रमाने सांगतात तिचा नवरा, मेव्हणा आणि मोठी बहीण. चेतना प्रवाहातून ती अधूनमधून प्रकट होते आणि सूत्र परत निवेदकाच्या हाती सोपवून निघून जाते, अदृश्य नाही होत, दिसत राहाते, पण इतरांच्या चष्म्यातून!


पहिला निवेदक तिचा नवरा, चारचौघांसारखा, चाकोरीबद्ध आयुष्य जगणारा. लग्न आणि प्रेमाचा संबंध त्याच्या लेखी नसतोच. ही निमूटपणे साथ देणारी, पण वेगळीच. मनस्वी. तिचं ‘जगणं’ मानसिक पातळीवर. माहेरच्या घरातही मिसफिटच! नैसर्गिक अवस्थेत राहायची ओढ लागलेल्या तिला घरात अनेकदा नग्नावस्थेतच वावरायला आवडतं. तिला स्वप्न पडतं की, ती एखाद्या पशूसारखी कोणा जनावराची शिकार करून रासवटासारखी खातेय आणि एक रोप होतेय. तशी स्वप्नं पडतच राहतात आणि ती शाकाहारी होण्याचं ठरवते.

नवऱ्याला मांसाहार मुळीच सोडायचा नसतो, त्यातून मिळणारी प्रोटिन्स गमावल्याने शरीर कुपोषित राहणार हे सगळ्या समाजाचंच दृढ मत असतं. यामुळे तिच्या घरी-दारी प्रचंड खळबळ, माहेरची माणसं एकत्र येऊन तिच्या डोक्यात शिरलेलं भूत काढू बघतात, साम-दाम-दंड-भेदाने. वडिलांच्या आक्रमक सक्तीला ही काही न बोलता स्वत:च्या मनगटात सुरी खुपसून विरोध दर्शवते. तिला कसंतरी सरळ करायला नवरा तिच्यावर लैंगिक अत्याचार सुरू करतो. त्याला ती थंड मनाने सामोरी जाते, त्याने तिच्या स्वत्वावर ओरखडासुद्धा उमटत नाही. आपण वृक्ष झालो आहोत आणि आपल्याला फक्त ऊन आणि पाण्याची गरज आहे हे डोक्यात घेतलेल्या, याँगचा सायकोसिसमध्ये झालेला शेवट अतार्किकदृष्ट्या तर्कशुद्धच!

⚖️न्यायदेवतेच्या डोळ्यावरची पट्टी काढली, हातात तलवारीच्या जागी संविधान : सरन्यायाधीश चंद्रचूड यांचा महत्त्वपूर्ण निर्णय

सर्वोच्च न्यायालयाने 'लेडी ऑफ जस्टिस' म्हणजेच न्यायदेवतेचा नवा पुतळा बसवला आहे.

या पुतळ्याच्या डोळ्याची पट्टी काढण्यात आली आहे, जी आतापर्यंत कायदा आंधळा असल्याचे दर्शवत होते. त्याचबरोबर तिच्या हातात तलवारीऐवजी संविधानाचे पुस्तक देण्यात आले आहे.

सर्वोच्च न्यायालयाच्या न्यायमूर्तींच्या लायब्ररीमध्ये हा पुतळा बसवण्यात आला आहे.

वसाहतवादी वारसा मागे टाकण्याचा प्रयत्न म्हणूनही याकडे पाहिले जात आहे.

⚖️Justice is no longer blind".🪙

The statue of Lady Justice has been redesigned to reflect a modernised version of justice in India.

In the previous version, 'Lady Justice' was portrayed with a blindfold over her eyes.

The new statue, however, has open eyes, symbolising that "justice is no longer blind".

👀Blindfold removed from 'Lady Justice'

Not only has the emblem of the Supreme Court been updated, but the iconic blindfold of 'Lady Justice' has also been taken off.

🖥Constitution replaces sword

In the earlier statue, 'Lady Justice' held a sword in one hand as a symbol of punishment, while the other hand held scales that represented fairness.

In the new statue, the sword has been replaced by the Constitution, while the scales remain unchanged.

The change symbolises that justice in India is dispensed according to the Constitution which ensures equality for all.
