One of the many miracles that have been discovered on Guadalupe’s Mantle is that a melody can be read on it, taking the flowers and stars as musical notes (discovery of Dr. Fernando Ojeda). The sequence of the "Dies Irae" is, in our opinion, one of the most beautiful and moving Gregorian chants. It is sung in the traditional Roman liturgy of the Requiem, the Holy Mass for the dead, to make people aware of the seriousness of death, when they will have to give an account of their lives to God.
We offer this song to our beloved Heavenly Father for all the departed, as well as for all those who come to the end of their lives unprepared. May the Lord, in His infinite goodness, have mercy on them!

La secuencia del «Dies Irae» es, en nuestra opinión, uno de los cantos gregorianos más bellos y conmovedores. Se lo entona en la liturgia romana tradicional del Réquiem, la Santa Misa por los difuntos, llamando a los hombres a tomar consciencia de la seriedad de la muerte, cuando tengan que rendir cuentas de su vida ante Dios.

Nuevas batallas emprendió Santa Juana de Arco por encargo de Dios para liberar a Francia de la opresión extranjera. Además del ejército del rey, eran los ángeles quienes luchaban de su lado. Ella entregó su tierna vida por esta misión. También hoy se necesitan personas como ella, llamadas por el Señor para liberar no sólo a Francia, sino a tantas naciones de la amenaza de una ocupación anticristiana. Esta vez será un combate meramente espiritual, librado en el Nombre del Señor contra los principados, las potestades y los espíritus malignos (cf. Ef 6,12). Santa Juana de Arco acudirá al auxilio de la Iglesia militante para librar estas “nuevas guerras”, y sólo está esperando que se lo pidamos.
En este sentido, entonamos este canto, propio de la Misa en memoria de Santa Juana de Arco. El video lo hemos grabado en Domremy (Francia), la aldea natalicia de nuestra santa.

Joan of Arc fought new battles at God's command to free France from foreign oppression. Alongside the king's army, the angels fought on her side. She gave her tender life for this mission. People like her are still needed today, called by the Lord to liberate not only France but so many nations from the threat of anti-Christian occupation. This time it will be a purely spiritual battle, fought in the name of the Lord against the principalities, powers and evil spirits (cf. Eph 6:12). St. Joan of Arc will come to the aid of the Church militant in these "new wars" and is only waiting for us to ask her.
It is in this spirit that we sing this Gradual, proper to the Mass in memory of Saint Joan of Arc. The video was filmed in Domremy (France), the native village of Joan.

Today we celebrate the memory of St. Nicholas of Flüe, patron saint of Switzerland, who expressed his deepest longing in this prayer:
“My Lord and my God, take from me everything that distances me from You;
My Lord and my God, give me everything that brings me closer to You;
My Lord and my God, detach me from myself to give my all to You”.

Siendo alemanes, nos regocijamos hoy en la memoria de una ilustre representante de nuestra nación y Doctora de la Iglesia: Santa Hildegarda de Bingen. Ella nos dejó como legado la frase que, en nuestra opinión, define con mayor tino la música sacra: “La música sacra es el último recuerdo del Paraíso perdido”. Entre las muchas experiencias místicas que Dios le concedió, tuvo el deleite de escuchar cantar a los mismísimos coros de los ángeles. Inspirada por estas armonías celestiales, compuso un sinnúmero de cantos que, sin duda, recuerdan al Paraíso. As Germans, we rejoice today in the memory of an illustrious representative of our nation and Doctor of the Church: St. Hildegard of Bingen. She left us as a legacy the phrase which, in our opinion, most aptly defines sacred music: ‘Sacred music is the last memory of Paradise lost’. Among the many mystical experiences God granted her, she had the delight of hearing the very choirs of angels sing. Inspired by these heavenly harmonies, she composed countless chants that are undoubtedly a reminder of Paradise. En el Calvario, justamente al lado de la Cruz de Nuestro Señor, hay una conmovedora estatua de la Madre Dolorosa, cuyo corazón, tal como el Anciano Simeón lo predijo, fue atravesado por una espada cuando vio morir a su Hijo en la Cruz. Al contemplar su aflicción hoy, en la Fiesta de la Virgen Dolorosa, no podemos sino unirnos a la exclamación del poeta del Stabat Mater:

"¿Cuál hombre no llorara,
si a la Madre contemplara
de Cristo, en tanto dolor?
Y ¿quién no se entristeciera,
Madre piadosa, si os viera
sujeta a tanto rigor?
(…)
¡Oh dulce fuente de amor!,
hazme sentir tu dolor
para que llore contigo."

On Calvary, right next to the Cross of Our Lord, there is a moving statue of the Sorrowful Mother, whose heart, as Simeon foretold, was pierced by a sword when she saw her Son die on the Cross. As we contemplate her affliction today, on the Feast of the Sorrowful Mother, we cannot but join in the exclamation of the poet of the Stabat Mater:

“Is there one who would not weep,
Whelm'd in miseries so deep,
Christ's dear Mother to behold?
Can the human heart refrain
From partaking in her pain,
In that Mother's pain untold?
(…)
O thou Mother! fount of love! Pierce me through;
In my heart each wound renew
Of my Saviour crucified”
