As the Chief Elections Officer, I hereby declare the opening of nominations for the role of Publications Director within the 31st Hall Council.

Interested parties are to EMAIL the Chief Elections Officer, Devin Tharunuwan Kaluarachchi ([email protected]), whilst carbon copying (CC) Deputy Chief Elections Committee: Thung Tek Chen ([email protected]), Kynan Lau Zhe Rui ([email protected]) and Cheong Shi Wen([email protected]) an official notification of their individual candidature with the PDF template attached after this message.
As per Article IX: Elections of the - “Hall of Residence VIII Constitution”; Clause 7 a) which states: “Each nomination period shall be a period of three (3) working days after which no extension of time shall be allowed for the receipt of nomination after the nomination period has ended, subjected to Clause 8 (of Article IX)”, the official notifications shall come in no later than Sunday, 8th of December 2024, 2359hrs.

The submission of nominations form shall come in no later than Monday, 9th of December 2024, 2359hrs.

Please note that notifications and nominations are two separate submissions with differing deadlines. Nominations form will be sent after notifications form (via email) is submitted.

Please note that notifications, through platforms outside of the above stated and done in proxy shall not be entertained.

Also, whilst the official notification is necessary to validate your candidature, it DOES NOT constitute as confirmation to go through with the elections; you may indicate interest but may not eventually run for elections without discrimination nor penalty. Dear 🎱Eighters🎱!

As part of residential safety awareness, NTU will be organising a physical 🚨Fire Drill🚨 for Hall 8.

This fire drill is an opportunity to find out where the 🫡assembly area🫡 will be for Hall 8 residents in case of an actual fire.

The details are as follows:
🗓 One of the Evenings between 8th and 11th October 2024
📍 Hall 8 Assembly Area

Instructions for Residents during fire drill:

1️⃣ Once you hear the FIRST fire alarm, stop what you are doing and prepare to evacuate.

2️⃣ Once you hear the SECOND fire alarm, calmly leave your room. Turn off your lights and fans and bring your handphone with you. Lock your doors. Do not panic.

3️⃣ Move over to the assembly area. Do not run.

4️⃣ Once at the assembly area, scan the QR Code at the assembly area to confirm your attendance.

5️⃣ You may proceed back to your room at the end of the fire drill.

❗️NOTE:
This fire drill is COMPULSORY for all Eighters!
