Then I logged in and checked the decision, which says

After a careful review of your application materials, the admissions committee has decided not to offer you admission.
As you know, admission to graduate programs is highly selective. Our applicant pool this year was extremely competitive and our admissions committee had a difficult task in making admissions decisions. Should you wish to apply again for a future term or to a different program, please visit the prospective student section of the Graduate School website before submitting another application.
We understand the time and effort it takes to apply to graduate school and we sincerely appreciate your interest in the University of Houston. We wish you the best in all your future endeavors.

I was the guy who posted on March 29, and I got one interview on March 26. The interview was pretty good and the interviewer praised me and talked with me for about 40 min. Everything went well until she said you are so good and do you have offers from other universities? Then I thought I should be honest and told her I got 2 offers and the names of the universities. Then, she was not happy.

After the interview, on the same day of the interview, I sent her a thank letter and she replied in an email that "you are excerllent but the competition is so fierce and you are in waitlist now". I was so sad and replied that I would accept their offer and turn down the other 2 offers if they would like to give me the offer.

But this would change nothing and she suggested that I accept other universities' offers. I was so sad,really. I hope my experience could help you guys.
