Delegation of Waiting List Candidates call on Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in Jammu, seek one-time exemption in waiting list rules to consider Resignations

In a significant meeting today, a delegation of waiting list candidates met Chief Minister Omar Abdullah at Jammu to discuss the pressing issue of the waiting list that has affected scores of families. The delegation presented their concerns regarding the impact of the waiting list on candidates and emphasized the urgent need for a one-time exemption to consider resignations.

*During the meeting, Chief Minister Abdullah assured the delegation that he would Solve this issue as soon as possible.* The discussions highlighted the challenges faced by waiting list candidates and underscored the necessity of addressing their demands to alleviate their hardships.

The delegation expressed hope that the government would take swift action to fulfill the requests and support the families awaiting consideration.

Pertinently, the waiting list Candidates across J&K are requesting the UT admin to give one time exemption in the prevalent waiting list rules in J&K so as to consider the job appointments for the posts falling vacant due to the short term resignations tendered by the selectees. Scores of posts have fallen vacant during recent recruitment drives in J&K due to the fact that the candidates selected for multiple posts often tender resignation shortly after joining so as to choose the higher posts.........

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has cleared a resolution passed by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah-led cabinet urging the Centre to restore the statehood to the Union territory, officials said on Saturday.
“The cabinet which met under the chairmanship of Omar Abdullah on Thursday passed a unanimous resolution for restoration of statehood in its original form,” an official spokesperson said.
Without giving any further details, the officials asserted that the LG has cleared the resolution passed by the cabinet........

Justice Sanjiv Khanna will assume office as the 51st CJI on November 11th, 2024 for a term of 6 months till his retirement on May 13th, 2025.
