THE POWER OF A RIGHT CONFESSION

For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.—ROMANS 10:10

Notice this scripture says that we are not only to believe with our heart, but we are also to confess with our mouth. It says that confession brings about salvation.

Actually, all that we receive from God is received that way—through faith. It’s always with the heart that we believe and with the mouth that we confess. With the heart we believe for healing, and with the mouth confession is made unto healing. Everything we receive from God comes this way.

Now the same thought appears in another text that we’ve looked at: “For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith” (Mark 11:23). Both Romans 10:10 and Mark 11:23 talk about believing in your heart and saying with your mouth.

Then Romans 10:8 says, “But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach.” You see, the word of faith must be in your mouth and in your heart for it to work for you. That’s the thing that defeats many people. They believe God’s Word in their heart, but their mouth is always talking something else.

Set a watch on your mouth. See to it that it only speaks what is in line with the Word of God. Stop saying what doesn’t line up with God’s Word. If you keep saying anything long enough, those words will eventually register on your heart. And when they do, they’ll control your life.

Confession:
I set a watch on my mouth. I only speak what I believe in my heart that lines up with God’s Word. I believe that I am healed. I believe that I am well. I believe it in my heart and I speak it out of my mouth.

GOD-INSIDE

Do you not discern and understand that you [the whole church at Corinth] are God’s temple (His sanctuary), and that God’s Spirit has His permanent dwelling in you [to be at home in you, collectively as a church and also individually]? — 1 CORINTHIANS 3:16 (Amplified)

God Himself, after He makes us new creatures, actually makes our bodies His home. No longer does He dwell in an earth-made Holy of Holies. God says, “What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you? . . . ” (1 Cor. 6:19).
We need to become mindful that we are the temple of the Holy Spirit — we have God inside of us!

Chiseled on the front of a beautiful church in Texas is an Old Testament scripture declaring that the building was the temple of God. I get provoked every time I drive by. Why? Because these people have a lie right on the front of their church building!

To say that a church building is the house of God because He dwells there, is incorrect. God doesn’t dwell in a church building. If we mean that a church building is the house of God because it has been dedicated to God, that is correct. But we must be careful not to confuse spiritual things with natural things. Therefore, we must be careful to state spiritual things as they really are.

Your body is the house or temple of God — not the building where you worship. Remembering this fact will help you in your obedience and in your faith.

Confession
My body is the temple of God. God has His permanent dwelling in me. God is at home in me.

‘HE WILL LIVE AND NOT DIE’

I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.—PSALM 118:17

Several years ago, a woman came to one of my crusades. When she saw what the Bible said about healing, she started shouting. I didn’t pray for her. She just jumped up and started shouting. I stepped back and let her holler and shout. I noticed that others seemed to be quite blessed by it. The pastor said to me, “Brother Hagin, that woman and her husband are some of the wealthiest people in this area. They’re worth billions! Now they’re not Pentecostal; they belong to the First Presbyterian Church.”

After awhile, the woman ran down to the front, and we all praised God with her. When I dismissed the service, she came and thanked me. I said, “There’s no use in thanking me. Thank the Lord.”

“Yes,” she said, “but you brought the truth to me. My son is in the UCLA Hospital. He’s only twenty-one years old. He’ll be twenty-two in a few days. The doctors say he’ll never live to see his twenty-second birthday. He has an incurable blood disease. They’ve changed the entire blood in his system several different times. He’s under an oxygen tent and he’s hooked up to machines to keep him alive.

“But, bless God,” she said, “God is on my side. He is with me. And I’m going over to that hospital right now. I want you to know that my son will live and not die.”

I said, “That’s right. He won’t die.” And she marched right over to that hospital.

Confession:
God is on my side. He is with me. I will live and not die. I will declare the works of the Lord.

_"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9)._

Someone once asked me, "I can see from the Scriptures that we've received remission from our past sins; that we've received the gift of righteousness; and that we've been made righteous new creatures. But what about those sins I've committed since I've become a Christian?"

Thank God for His provision - First John 1:9! This verse isn't for sinners - it's for Christians! First John is written for Christians (1 John 2:1-2).

When a man sins, he is under condemnation. He loses his sense of righteousness. But when he confesses to the Lord, "I have sinned; I have failed You. Forgive me, Lord, in Jesus' Name." The Lord does two things:

He forgives him

He cleanses him

What does God cleanse him from? All unrighteousness!

Unrighteousness is simply the word righteousness with the prefix "un" attached to it. When we are cleansed from unrighteousness, or nonrighteousness, then we are righteous again! Praise the Lord!

*Confession: Thank You, Father, for Your provision of 1 John 1:9. Thank You for Your faithfulness in forgiving and cleansing me from all unrighteousness, that I may continually have right standing in Your sight.*

Attend to God’s Word

My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.—PROVERBS 4:20

God tells us to attend to His Word. Let me give you an illustration. Let’s say I meet someone on the street who says, “Brother Hagin, I want to talk to you.” And I respond, “Well, I can’t talk right now. I’ve got some business to attend to.” What does that mean? It means I have to put that other business first.
God said to listen to His sayings.

Some people are listening to what others are saying instead of to what God is saying. Donald Gee, a pioneer of the Pentecostal movement, said that every man in his family died before the age of forty. Well, when he got up around that age, fear came on him. Some of the symptoms his relatives experienced started showing up. And the devil said, “The same thing is happening to you. You’re going to die. You’ll not live past forty. It’s incurable. The doctors can’t cure it.”

As he was driving down the road one day, he dealt with that fear and threw it out of the car. He said, “I’ll not be afraid, because the Bible said, ‘Fear thou not’” (Isa. 41:10). Then he said, “God is with me. God is in me. The Greater One is in me.”

Did he die at forty? No, he was nearly ninety when he went home to be with the Lord. He was the first male in his family to live past the age of forty. Why? He began to attend to God’s words. He began to incline his ears unto what God said.

Confession:
I attend to God’s sayings. I put them first place in my life. I listen to what God says, rather than the words of people. I believe that God is with me. I believe that God is in me. He puts me over in life.

REIGNING IN RIGHTEOUSNESS

For if because of one man’s trespass (lapse, offense) death reigned through that one, much more surely will those who receive [God’s] overflowing grace (unmerited favor) and the free gift of righteousness [putting them into right standing with Himself] reign as kings in life through the one Man Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One). — ROMANS 5:17 (Amplified)

One of our greatest problems is relegating everything to the future. Think about the songs we sing: “When we all get to Heaven . . .” Thank God we are going to get there, but we don’t have to wait until we get there to enjoy God’s blessings. We can have them now!

Yes, we will reign with Christ then. But we don’t have to wait until then! When does our text say we will reign as kings? Now! In life! In this life! How? By Jesus Christ!

Paul used this illustration of reigning as kings because in the day in which he lived, they had kings. Each king reigned over his own particular domain. His word was the final authority. What he said went! He ruled. He reigned.

The Word says that we reign in life by Christ Jesus. Why? Because we have been made the righteousness of God in Christ.

Confession
Because I have received the free gift of righteousness, which puts me into right standing with God, I reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ. I reign as a righteous king in my domain. What I say goes!

The GREATER ONE Within

Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.—1 JOHN 4:4

We know that spiritual things are superior to physical things. God, a Spirit, created physical things. We know that spiritual forces are stronger than physical forces. And we know that greater is He that is in us, than he that is in the world. The Greater One within us is Master of disease and weakness. And we trust in Him with all of our hearts. He rises up in us and gives illumination which we can get from no other source. We know that we cannot be conquered!

So what exactly is the Greater One doing in you? Is He in you as extra baggage for you to carry through life? No, there’s a divine Personality in you. And He is greater than the personality that’s in the world—Satan, the god of this world.

The Greater One in you is greater than sickness and disease, and He is greater than the devil and demons. He is greater than any force or power that can come against you. He is greater than any test or temptation you face. And He will put you over. He will make you a success.

Confession:
The Greater One in me will put me over in life. He is greater than sickness and disease. And He always causes me to triumph in Christ Jesus.

THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD

For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. — 2 CORINTHIANS 5:21

“For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin . . . .”

I’ve tested people by reading this portion of Scripture and then I’ve asked them, “How many of you believe that’s true?” They all lifted their hands. Then I would read the last part of the same verse, “. . . that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”

And then I would say to them, “Therefore, we — you and I — are the righteousness of God in Christ. How many of you believe that’s true?”

Most of the time I couldn’t get half of the crowd to lift their hands on the last part. And yet, if the first part of that verse is true, then the last part must be true too!

God made a provision for us that belongs to us. We need to realize that it is ours!

Confession
Jesus became sin for me that I might become the righteousness of God in Him. I am the righteousness of God in Christ. God provided righteousness for me. Righteousness is mine. I have it now! I am righteous now.

RIGHT STANDING

For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ. — ROMANS 5:17

For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness . . . . — ROMANS 10:10

Most people think righteousness is a state of spiritual development which you grow into by right living. The Bible teaches right living — but right living itself will never make you righteous. (If it would, you wouldn’t need Jesus.)
Righteousness means rightness, or right standing with God.

Righteousness is a gift. A gift is something you receive now — whole and complete. A fruit, on the other hand, is a state of spiritual development— something which grows and develops. Thank God, we can grow spiritually — but we cannot grow in righteousness. In fact, you won’t be any more righteous when you get to Heaven than you are right now.

How did you get to be righteous? You were born that way!

Righteousness comes through the New Birth. With your heart you believed unto righteousness. When you were born again, you received the life andnature of God the Father (John 5:24,26; 2 Peter 1:4). God’s nature makes you righteous!

Confession
I have righteousness. It was given to me. I believed unto righteousness and I received it at my New Birth. I have right standing with God. I am righteous.

NEW CREATION FACTS
September 19, 2024

"Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?

"And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people" (2 Cor. 6:14-16).

In order to have strong faith, you must see yourself as God sees you - and you must say about yourself what God says about you.

In the scripture quoted above, believers are called believers, and unbelievers are called unbelievers. So you can call yourself a believer.

Believers are called righteousness, and unbelievers are called unrighteousness. Have you ever called yourself righteousness? That's what the Bible calls you, so you are.

Believers are called light, and unbelievers are called darkness.

"And what concord hath Christ with Belial?" Here the Church is identified with Christ. Christ is the Head, and we are the Body. Your head doesn't go by one name and your body by another, does it? The Church is identified with Christ - we are the Body of Christ. Think about it. Let it soak in. What a basis for faith!

Confession: Because I am in Christ - I am a believer. I am righteousness. I am light. I am one who believes. I am the temple of God.

BORN AGAIN

Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. — 1 PETER 1:23

We are begotten of God.
We are born of God.
We are children of God.
We are heirs of God.
We are joint-heirs (“joint” means equal) with Jesus (Rom. 8:17).

In declaring this, we do not magnify ourselves. We magnify God and what He has done for us through the Lord Jesus Christ. We do not make ourselves new creatures. God made us new creatures. He is the Author and Finisher of our faith.
We are new creatures created by God in Christ Jesus!

Confession
I am begotten of God. I am born of God. I am born of incorruptible seed by the living Word of God. I was born into the spiritual realm, given eternal life, and made a branch of the vine through the incorruptible Word of God.

Don’t Let Your Physical Senses Dictate What You Believe

Then said Jesus unto him, Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe.—JOHN 4:48

That night I went to the service, and after I had preached, people got in the prayer line to be healed and to be filled with the Holy Ghost. I began to lay hands on them, and when I came to this woman pastor, I was very conscious of her, because it hadn’t been more than three hours or so since the associate pastor and I had been talking about her case.

I spent a little extra time with her and put up my spiritual antenna. I checked to see if the Lord would say anything to me. I asked her what she came for, and she told me she came for healing. Then she described some of the things that were wrong with her. I laid hands on her and prayed. She said, “No, no, I didn’t get it. I don’t have it.”

I said, “I’ll pray for you again.” So I laid hands on her and prayed again.
She began to press around on her body and said, “No, it’s still sore right there. I didn’t get it.”

I said, “I’ll pray for you again.” I thought three times ought to be enough for anybody. I knew she wasn’t going to get anything, but on the other hand, I didn’t want to slight her.

So I prayed for her the third time. By the time I said, “Amen,” she was already feeling around on her body. Then she said, “It’s still sore right here. No, I didn’t get it.” I passed her, and the next person stepped up in place.

Confession:
Instead of listening to my body—the physical symptoms of my body—I listen to my spirit man, my heart. I live and walk by faith, not by sight.

LOOK TO THE WORD OF GOD

Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.—JOHN 17:17

I was holding a meeting in Oklahoma, and several churches were cooperating. The associate pastor of the church where we were holding the meeting said to me one day, “Brother Hagin, why doesn’t Sister ___ receive her healing?”

“Well,” I said, “I don’t know. I don’t even know who Sister _ is.” He went on to explain to me that Sister _ was a pastor from one of the churches that was cooperating with this meeting. When he described her, I remembered seeing her.

He said, “She’s been in every healing line and hasn’t received her healing. So some of the folks from our church who need healing have said, ‘If Sister ___ can’t get healed, there is no use in us getting in the healing line.’

“I’ve known her all my life. She used to be Presbyterian before she was baptized with the Holy Ghost. One time, she was voted the most outstanding Christian among the Presbyterians in her part of the state. After being filled with the Holy Ghost, she built a church and pastored it very successfully. She is such a holy person, a separated person, and an outstanding minister of the Gospel. People are concluding that if she’s in the healing line every night and can’t get healed, they’re not going to get healed either.”

Well, that was wrong thinking. And that kind of thinking will defeat you.

Confession:
I think in line with God’s Word. I look to God’s Word as the authority in my life. I don’t look at other people, or the experiences of other people, to determine what is true. I look to the Word of God.

LOVED

I [Jesus] in them [believers], and thou [God the Father] in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me. — JOHN 17:23

When you know — really know — that God is your very own Father and you are His very own child, this knowledge will have the following effect on you: You will have as much freedom and fellowship with the Father as Jesus had in His earth walk, because God the Father loves you even as He loved Jesus! John 17:23 says so: “. . . and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.”

“I just can’t believe that God loves me as much as He loved Jesus,” some may say.

Thank God, I can! I believe it, because the Bible says it, and that settles it!

You and I can say with Jesus “. . . I am not alone, because the Father is with me” (John 16:32). Because if God loves me as He loved Jesus — and He does — then He is with me as He was with Jesus. I am never afraid, just as Jesus was never afraid. There is nothing to fear. What can man do to the man or woman whom God loves and protects!

Confession
God the Father is my very own Father. I am His very own child. And He loves me in my earth walk just as much as He loved Jesus in His earth walk. I can fellowship with Him just as Jesus did. I am free from fear just as Jesus was, for I am not alone. My Father is with me.

FAMILY

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. — JOHN 1:12,13

No truth in all the Bible is as far reaching as the blessed fact that when we are born again we come into the family of God! God the Father is our Father!

He cares for us! He is interested in us — each of us individually — not just as a group, or a body, or a church. He is interested in each of His children, and He loves each of us with the same love.

However, our Heavenly Father is not the Father of everyone, as some supposed. Jesus said to some very religious people, “Ye are of your father the devil . . .” (John 8:44). Yes, God is the Creator of all mankind, but a man must be born again to become His child. He is God to the world, but Father only to the new creation man.

God is your very own Father. You are His very own child. And since He is your Father, you can be assured that He will take a father’s place and perform a father’s part. You can be certain that as your Heavenly Father, God loves you, and He will take care of you.

Confession
I am born of God. I am born into God’s family. God the Father is my Father. I am His very own child. He is my very own Father. He loves me. He provides for me. He takes care of me.

LOOK AT WHAT IS UNSEEN

While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.—2 CORINTHIANS 4:18

How can you look at something unseen? You’re certainly not looking at it with your physical eyes. No, you’re looking at it with your spiritual eyes, or the eyes of your spirit. You’re looking at it through the eyes of faith. A person who does not look at what is seen is not motivated by what is seen. Rather, he or she is motivated by the unseen.
People who are sick and are prayed for again and again do not get healed because they are motivated by their sight or by their feelings. The same people, if they feel well, say they’re well. And if they feel sick, they say they’re sick. They’re motivated entirely by their feelings. I pay no attention to my feelings whatsoever. I couldn’t care less about them. I’m moved only by what I believe.

I adopted a motto from Smith Wigglesworth many years ago: “I’m not moved by what I see. I’m not moved by what I feel. I’m moved only by what I believe.” That has helped me through many a hard place. I mean, I have looked around me in times past when everything seemed to indicate defeat. But I just kept looking the situation right in the face, saying, “I’m not moved by what I see.” I stood my ground calmly and deliberately, saying, “I’m not moved by what I see. I’m not moved by what I feel. I am moved only by what I believe.” That’s faith. It has brought me through many a hard place, and it will do the same for you.

Confession:
I am not moved by what I see. I am not moved by what I feel. I am moved only by what I believe. And I believe that God is working everything out for good, according to His Word.
