Hey DED Community - Progress UPDATE:

The DED Foundation is currently deploying 0.01 DOT to every Polkadot address on Asset Hub.

1. What is Asset Hub?

Asset Hub is a blockchain ('parachain') built on and by Polkadot. It is where DED will be minted and airdropped.

2. Why is the DED Foundation sending me 0.01 DOT?

In order to send DED (an asset on Asset Hub) to an address, that address needs to have a minimum deposit of 0.01 DOT (called an 'existential deposit', or ED for short). In order to ensure every DOT address receives DED, the Foundation is covering the minimum deposit for all ~1.25 million DOT addresses.

3. How do I check if I received my ED?

The ED of 0.01 DOT will appear in your wallet. You do not have to do (or click) anything to receive it. Magic.

4. Why haven't I gotten my ED yet?

Sending 0.01 DOT to 1.25 million addresses takes a little time. Best move is to just be patient. Should take about 1/2 a day to do.

5. Where can I check ED deployment progress?

You'll see 'Transfers (123456)', indicating how many 0.01 DOT transfers have been sent so far.

6. Why don't I see any DED in my wallet?

That's because DED hasn't been airdropped yet.

7. When will DED be airdropped?

The DED Foundation met today, as planned, and in the interests of market and community demand initiated immediate taking of the snapshot, which has now happened, at a block height of 19,952,000.

Further detail will be announced in due course.

➡️ Good news - The DED Foundation that will oversee $DED deployment is now incorporated (15 March) and is meeting on Monday (18 March), so expect some announcements and action out of that.
