Prepare Smarter for CUET 2025 ENGLISH LANGUAGE: Key Takeaways from Last Years' Analysis

📖 1. Focus on Reading Comprehension (RCs)
With 24 RC questions across 4 passages, RCs took up most of the exam time. Prepare by practicing diverse and complex passages to improve speed and accuracy.

🧩 2. Master Sentence Rearrangement & Match the Columns
5 questions from Sentence Rearrangement and 6 Matching-type questions were asked. Prioritize these topics as their weightage has increased.

📚 3. Enhance Vocabulary
Vocabulary had a higher presence, with more challenging words than in previous years. Focus on daily word practice.

🔍 4. Lesser Focus on Grammar
Surprisingly, no questions were asked from Spelling Errors, Question Tag, or Spotting Errors, and grammar weightage decreased. However, don’t skip grammar entirely as it might fluctuate again.

📝 5. Be Ready for NTA’s Unpredictability
NTA seems to experiment with question types every year. Keep a balanced preparation for RCs, vocabulary, and grammar.

In CUET 2024, English exam presented some surprises! 🤔

🔍 Overall Difficulty:

40-50% of the paper was on the moderate side—not as easy as expected!
5-10% of questions were time-consuming.

⏳

📚 Reading Comprehension Challenge:

The level of Reading Comprehension was notably higher this time.
Surprise! A whopping 24 questions were dedicated to just one section—Reading Comprehension!
Students had to tackle 4 passages with 6 questions each, which took up a significant amount of time. ⏰

❗ Missing Elements:

Unlike the 2023 paper, questions on Spotting Errors, Spelling Errors, and Direct-Indirect Speech were absent in the 2024 paper.
Interestingly, the vocabulary portion was greater than the grammar portion this time around. 📖
