“Trev, fortunately for us, was not something serious, so he is ok. Benoit is back and has been training with us in the last ten days, maybe even more.

“Wes [Fofana] is not in the squad but is back. Romeo [Lavia] started to train with us in the last two days. So slowly, slowly we have all the players back which is important for the final rush of the season.

“Robert [Sanchez] starts tomorrow, yes.

“In this moment, he has played against Brighton away in the FA Cup, then he didn’t play in the Premier League, but tomorrow he is going to play. I have said many times about Robert, that it’s a matter of giving him different kinds of games and trying to help him.”

🤝 “We said a few times that, unfortunately, our bad moment started with the amount of injuries. Now, some of them are back and some of them are in the process of coming back. That is a huge boost for me but also for the players.

“That is because you see players who were there for the first six or seven months of the season – when we were there [near the top of the Premier League table]. So it is important for the final rush of the season.”

“The team plays very nice football. It’s a team that always tries to control the game. I watched the Conference League games, the games in the league and they try to control and dominate the game every time. There is a clear idea. They have a good mix [of players]. Up front, they have good players and in the midfield they have experienced players like Delaney. They are a good team.”

𝐎𝐅𝐅𝐈𝐂𝐈𝐀𝐋: Chelsea have continued to bolster their backroom staff by hiring Arsenal’s Mark Mason as Assistant Head of Goalkeeping.

Mason joined the Gunners in September 2023 as Head of Academy Goalkeeping following almost two years as Head of Goalkeeping and Set Piece Coach under Phil Neville at Inter Miami. He had also worked with Neville for England Women and the England Men’s youth teams.

From 2012 to 2016, Mason worked with Brighton, in both Academy and first-team roles. Chelsea’s Head of Global Goalkeeping is Ben Roberts, who arrived under Graham Potter but remained under Mauricio Pochettino and Enzo Maresca. The Blues have insisted he will stay with the club, despite Potter’s recent appointment by West Ham.

James Russell, a long-time member of staff, is Assistant Goalkeeper Coach and Head of Academy Goalkeeping, while Michele De Bernardin arrived with Maresca in the summer as First Team Goalkeeper Coach.
