C, XOXO feels like girlhood
in a lot of ways, the girlhood i felt i missed
driving down the i95 with your best friends with the windows down
drunk and happy in a playground after dark on a summer night (iykyk 🛝)
or in my bedroom, the place that knows me best
therein lies who i am and who I’ve been in tiny objects everywhere,
journals i’d swore i’d fill out but never did,
lingerie i wore in what seems like another life for a now stranger,
mirrors where i’ve seen my Self Before The Party and my Self After the Party
old mascara, overused blush, lip gloss with a missing lid
in a way, i guess this was creating an adolescence i missed and still want
a feeling of belonging i’ve always craved
girlhood shared
and now, with you, it is
