He is a Professor of International Law, President of the Association Henri Capitant in Cambodia, and an Advisor to the Ministry of Justice of the Kingdom of Cambodia since 2020. He speaks and writes in three languages: English, Khmer and French.

AUPP Committee for Community Service Program (CCSP) Presents: STEM4Change

CCSP proudly led the STEM4Change Project, a community service initiative that inspired 90 students at the community school "I See I Do" in Takeo province! Through hands-on STEM workshops on water sanitation, waste management, basic technology, and budgeting, CCSP helped foster practical skills and problem-solving confidence among the students.

Thanks to everyone’s support, CCSP also raised $400 through fundraising, which was donated to enhance the school’s facilities for the students. CCSP hopes to inspire kids in the community to believe in themselves, dream big, and work toward a brighter future.

Art Exhibition by Artist Ouk Chim Vichet at AUPP

Join us at AUPP Campus from Jan 20 - Jan 24 to view this distinctive and meaningful statue of the Hornbill by Cambodian artist Ouk Chim Vichet.

This display is made possible by the School of Social Sciences, headed by Prof. Raimund Weiss, and supported by the course, HUMN 110: Arts and Culture, taught by Prof. Joshua Wilwohl and Prof. Keneth Robinson.

In HUMN 110: Arts and Culture, students learn about how the two subjects intertwineβ€”influencing, inspiring, and encouraging people to embrace cultural fluency. They explore various forms of art, in both western and non-western cultures, and some of the subject matter relates to Cambodia, such as Hornbill by Ouk Chim Vichet. Other topics of study include art as an idea, cultural fluency, and the concepts of attention and patience.

AUPP Students Unite for Community Impact in Battambang and Siem Reap!

From January 4th to 7th, students from the AUPP Community for Southeast Asian Studies (CSEAS), supported by AUPP, embarked on an unforgettable trip we called β€œCSEAS Cultural Crossroads and Community Impact” to Battambang and Siem Reap.

Beyond exploring and bonding, the students organized a heartfelt charity event, collecting study materials, clothes, and funds to support underprivileged students at the Village Homeschool in Sras Srong, Siem Reap. The joy of contributing to their education and well-being added a profound sense of purpose to our journey. Alumni Highlight: Kimsorng San

Meet Kimsorng, a proud graduate of AUPP’s Class of 2023, who has turned his passion for education into a remarkable journey of impact and success. As Deputy Director of The Brainiac Factory, Kimsorng partners with the Singapore International Mastery Contest Center (SIMCC) to host international competitions that inspire critical thinking and academic excellence.

In addition, as the School Director of Mekun Academy, he nurtures young math geniuses from kindergarten to grade 12, preparing them for Math Olympiads and helping students earn scholarships to study abroad.

Reflecting on his journey, Kimsorng shares that starting two education centers right after graduation has been a thrilling adventure. While challenges like finding school partners have tested his perseverance, seeing his students excel and achieve their dreams keeps him motivated.

Dr. Tek Ming Ng embarked on his academic journey in 1998 as a Research Engineer in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at the National University of Singapore (NUS), where he also pursued his Master of Engineering and Doctor of Philosophy in Engineering. In 2003, his commitment to excellence in teaching earned him a place on the Honors List for Best Tutor (BEng).

In 2005, Dr. Ng joined the Republic Polytechnic of Singapore (RP) as a lecturer in the School of InfoComm. Over the course of 15 years at RP, he garnered recognition for his contributions to education, consistently being honored with the institution’s 100 Most Appreciated Mentors Award from 2011 to 2019.

Alumni Highlight: Vatanak In

Meet Mr. IN Vatanak, an alumnus of AUPP’s Global Affairs program, Class of 2022, with a Minor in Southeast Asian Studies. Since his graduation, Vatanak has made significant strides in his career, currently serving as a Policy Officer at the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications (MPTC), where he plays a key role in advancing government digital transformation. His work includes conducting policy research, exploring Artificial Intelligence (AI), and contributing to the development of Cambodia’s digital economy.

Vatanak also contributes to the Young Researcher Program 2024 at the Future Forum, an independent think tank, where he engages in policy research and has recently published a commentary titled article titled β€œPreparing for Responsible and Ethical Artificial Intelligence Adoption” on Kiripost.

Empowering Students to Stay Safe Online: Cyber Crime and Harassment Awareness Event

On October 31st 2024, AUPP held an informative workshop on How to Safeguard Yourself from Cyber Crime and Harassment, led by Lt. Col. Chhay Bumrummanith. This event offered essential knowledge on recognizing and preventing digital threats and provided students with the tools needed to navigate online spaces safely.

Students learned how to identify phishing scams, distinguish between various types of cyber crimes, and secure their personal data effectively. Real-life cases underscored the urgency of these issues. Participants were also introduced to a hotline website, giving them direct access to report incidents.

Throughout the workshop, students actively engaged, sharing their experiences and posing questions in a lively Q&A session, which further enriched the discussion. This interactive event not only raised awareness but also empowered attendees to protect themselves and others in the digital landscape.
