Atheist of India
Atheism is not just about not believing in God, but it is about having the courage to question the beliefs that have been handed down to us, to think critically, and to live life free from the chains of dogma.

Exploring Caste and Social Capital.
Well, Caste IS Social Capital.

Caste and Social Capital are deeply interconnected, as Caste plays a significant role in determining access to resources, networks, and opportunities. Social capital refers to the networks, relationships, and social structures that provide individuals and groups with access to valuable resources, including economic opportunities, education, and political influence.

- Endogamous Networks: Caste groups often function as closed social networks, where individuals benefit from shared connections in business, employment, and politics.
- Access to Resources: Higher castes historically accumulated wealth, land, and education, passing these advantages down through generations.
- Cultural Capital: Language, etiquette, and cultural practices associated with dominant castes often become the norm in elite spaces, reinforcing social advantages.

Debunking the Argument, “SC/ST people who convert should lose Reservation.”

- Caste Discrimination Persists Even After Conversion: Caste-based Discrimination is a Social Reality that doesn’t disappear with Religious conversion.
- Socio-Economic Backwardness Remains Unchanged: The primary goal of reservations is upliftment, not religious identity.
- Constitutional and Legal Principles: The Indian Constitution guarantees equality and protection against discrimination (Articles 14, 15, and 16).
Even the Mandal Commission and Sachar Committee have documented the backwardness of Dalit Christians and Dalit Muslims.
- The Constitution grants the freedom to practice any religion (Article 25), but losing reservations discourages people from exercising this right.
No one should have to choose between faith and fundamental rights.
- Precedent from Scheduled Tribes and OBCs: Scheduled Tribes (ST) retain their reservations regardless of religion, proving that caste is not exclusive to...

In the ruins of Chernobyl, scientists discovered a black fungus that feeds on gamma radiation.

It now colonizes the walls of the damaged reactor core.

It’s called Cladosporium sphaerospermum, and it literally responds to ionizing radiation with enhanced growth.

This remarkable organism, thriving in the radioactive wasteland, doesn’t just withstand high radiation levels — it actively absorbs and utilizes the energy through a process called radiosynthesis.

It “feeds” on this radiation, using it as a source of energy, similar to how plants use sunlight for photosynthesis.

Researchers believe it may offer insights into radiation-resistant life and potential applications for space travel and bioremediation.

These propaganda mouthpieces are getting out of hand..

Sati Pratha was prevalent across medieval India, from the Rajputs in the north to Bengal in the east and even in the Chola dynasty of the south. However, due to the lack of a formal judicial system and proper record-keeping, concrete historical evidence is scarce compared to medieval Europe, where witch-burning was a legal process with documented trials.

Despite this, numerous historical accounts, including those of travelers like Ibn Battuta and European colonial records, indicate that Sati was not always voluntary. Many widows were often pressured, brainwashed, or even intoxicated with opium or alcohol to subdue their resistance.

In some cases, they were tied down, choked, or gagged to prevent them from screaming or escaping during the ritual. British colonial rule eventually led to legal interventions, culminating in Lord William Bentinck’s regulation in 1829, which made Sati a punishable offence, highlighting the role of...

First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist. Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a trade unionist. Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew. Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.” —Martin Niemöller
