How Can Someone Stay Average in Their Craft for Over 20 Years? There’s this guy I remember from way back in 2006 who produces movies. I was much younger then, and guess what? I was featured in one of his movies!

I played the role of a baby ghost, running around shouting, "This way! This way!" That was my entire contribution to the movie. After that scene, it was like I vanished from the story. Still, it felt like a dream come true back then, I started feeling like a celebrity in my village. Hehehe.😆

Fast forward to 2024, I stumbled upon one of his recent movies. Honestly, it looked like a local church drama, completely unprofessional. I couldn’t help but wonder what that 2006 movie I starred in looked like. I even searched YouTube hoping to find it, but nothing came up.

Now I’m left asking myself: How can someone remain so average in their craft for over 20 years? How does growth just skip a person like that?

Our bus didn’t have a conductor so the driver asked us to pay line by line. Transport fare 300.

I had 300 naira with me and as I was about to pay, the woman behind me gave me 1000 for 3. Her change 100 naira.

I wanted to give her the 100 naira that was with me but she collected the 300 and said she has collected her 200 change.

What’s going on?

She then gave me another 1000 and said for 2 but at that point, I was already really confused. Madam, why you take the 300 instead of 100?

She began explaining to me but it wasn’t sinking in at all. At one point, I wanted to tell her to give me my money back so we can start afresh. She then said the other 1000 she gave me was for 2 so the 400 naira change is why she took 200 so the driver should bring 200 naira change.

I never think finish, another woman gave me 1000 and collected 500 from the money wey still dey confuse me.

This one is gonna be painful, but it's for real.

I learnt this reality early in life and since then, I have upped my game, and I don't conform to the norms.

They say a man doesn't have expiry time like women (menopause) but then, we have an expiry financial time unlike women.

Here are 3 serious life fact you need to know.

1/ You will likely lose your loved ones due to improper health care (not enough money)

Coming from an average family, you can see clearly that not everyone is equally lived and that's due to the financial differences.

Incase of health issues, most average home do go for the affordable medication and not mainly the recommended medication due to low funds.

Many average people do lose their loved ones in Hospital due to lack of proper care service, etc and these are mainly due to lack of funds to get adequate care for their sick ones.

Think about this.

2/ Your growth is going to be affected or retard if you have high black tax.

How much is your black tax?

In other words, how many people are dependent on you for daily living, the higher the number the more the weight on your finance and choice.

And it gets more scary if you don't overcome this, and you get married, give birth and add to it, meanwhile you're approaching 40.

3/ As a bro, no one loves you for who you are, not even you.

Be happy people love you for what you can bring forth, and that should be your motivation to be able to triple what you can be able to bring forth.

Its not a thing for debate or shade, it's fact we should embrace and celebrate.

About two weeks ago I came back to the KaaTruths Studio in the evening and there were about 10 little boys playing football on the street, in front of the studio’s gate.

The gate is these contemporary roll-back estate gates that are not really there to protect anything because of the size but just for demarcation, so it’s usually unlocked.

Immediately I got to the gate, the boys were all standing there, looking at me, and waiting for me to come down and open the gate myself.

But one of them, he’s about the smallest. He rushed and opened the gate, waited for me to drive in, and then closed it and went back to join others.

I parked and came back to the gate. Called and gave him five notes of N500 mints.

Immediately others saw the money, they came running to collect their own too. I told them the wages of work are for those that work.

The next day I came back and they were there again.

Immediately they saw me, every one of them rushed to the gate to open it. I thanked them and drove in without giving any of them anything.

Two days later, I came again and they did the same thing and I also did not give any of them money. I didn’t even thank them this time around.

This happened two more times and then they stopped rushing to open the gate whenever they saw me.

But that same little boy from the first night continued.

He opens and closes the gate without even waiting for me to meet him there.

He doesn’t care about the ‘thank you’ or the ‘money’ or anything else. He simply feels it’s the right thing to do.

The others who imitated him got tired and stopped because their respect and labor were predicated on their expectations for immediate rewards.

But the little boy started, expecting nothing, but just the desire to give value. He received a reward the first time, he kept going on. His niche got crowded by others who came in because of the money, but he was not deterred. When the reward didn’t come again, he remained consistent. This consistency became the defining attribute that distinguished him from others.

When others gave up, he remained.

And just last night when I came in, my boy was there again. With a smile on his face, he rushed and rolled back the gate with all his little strength, closed it, and ran back to continue playing his football.

I called him back and asked him where he lived and he led me to their house. He was the only child of a security guard in a nearby house.

I met the father who could barely speak English and introduced myself as KAA. When I said KAA, the man thought his son had damaged my CAR and was already planning on how to descend on the boy. We had to find someone who could speak Hausa and English to interpret for us.

I have now adopted the boy as one of my godsons. I will be directly and indirectly involved in his upbringing. He’s now my responsibility as much as it’s his father’s.

I came back the same night, gathered the rest of the boys together, and taught them how to be consistent in everything they do and not easily get disenchanted when they could not get immediate rewards for their efforts.

I hope you learn this too and share this post for others to read. The behavior of the other boys is synonymous with how many people behave.

They see people making money from something, and they all rush in expecting to start making money immediately too.

When the money doesn’t come as quickly as they expected, they rush out and rush into something else. But those who understand the importance and power of consistency usually remain and grow a forest in a seemingly barren desert.
