# Important take aways from Interim Budget-2024#-6

What Is Nano-DAP which was mentioned by Finance Minister in her budget speech?

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman while introducing the final Budget of the Modi government 2.0 announced that nano-DAP application will be expanded in all ago-climate zones.

DAP, or di-ammonium phosphate, is the second most extensively used fertiliser in India, behind urea. It is strong in phosphorus (P), which promotes root establishment and growth – without it, plants cannot grow to their full height or take too long to mature. It is therefore administered just before or during seeding.

Last year Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative’s (IFFCO’s) launched Nano DAP, which contained 8% Nitrogen and 16% Phosphorus by volume.

IFFCO's Nano DAP is liquid, as opposed to regular DAP, which is granular.
