With the con fast approaching, we wanted to give a quick PSA about room scams, as we are seeing them pop up more frequently. 🚨

Check out the post below for some helpful information! 🦺🦝👍

Someone might approach you saying they have space in their convention hotel room, and ask for money upfront.

If you send them money, you might show up at the con, but the scammer will be nowhere to be found, and there never was a room reservation at all! 😱

NEVER pay someone money to "reserve" a spot in a hotel room. ‼️🏨❌

None of our convention hotels will require payment upfront, only upon arrival and check-out. If someone is asking for money before the con, proceed with caution! 🚧🏨⚠️

Seeing a screenshot of a room confirmation is NOT a guarantee that the person you are speaking with has a room booked. ❌🙅🏨

Scammers can be pushy and try to guilt trip you into paying them upfront. Use your best judgment! 🤔💭✅

If you've sent money over already, the best thing you can do is call your bank or payment processor as soon as possible and try to dispute or reverse the transaction. ☎️

Stay safe out there, and maybe think about joining our Safety Team if you still want a main hotel room? 👀🦺

Our first form is just for applying for one of our available suites at the Westin! 🏨

Winners of this lottery can change their hotel room out for a suite in the Westin for the weekend! 🤩🏨
