This is the port of the m8c project for rg35xx. Graphics interaction has been rewritten to use SDL1.2 calls, SDL_gfx (stock, Garlic OS does not support SDL2). The code for joystick interaction has been removed, j2k.so is used for input translation. The code for interacting with libserialport has been removed (stock, Garlic OS does not include the snd_usb_audio kernel module). All interaction occurs through libusb, M8 command reception has been rewritten to be asynchronous because synchronous calls caused audio glitches.

Buildroot/Batocera Lite SDK Toolchain for RG35XX

This is a toolchain for the RG35XX (original) for developers to port additional tools, ports, etc.

This includes not just the gcc toolchain but all the necessary libraries and includes that are currently used for the latest RG35XX firmware.

Koriki/Batocera Lite for RG35XX 1.0.2

This is version 1.0.2 of Koriki/Batocera Lite for the RG35XX, it's an incremental update so you will need to install v1.0.1 first. This version includes among other things the possibility of changing launchers and the main capability of batocera, USB for gamepads and wireless USB dongles, and consistent charging and leds behavior for all hardware revisions. See the changes below to know more.

Important: If you get an ERROR 256 when trying to start a game from EmulationStation, mount the SDCARD on your computer and create a folder system/logs on the last partition of the SDcard (SHARE).


Installation:
This release is an update release
You need to have koriki 1.0 or 1.0.1 installed on a SDCARD
Mount the SDCARD on your computer
Extract the archive from this release and copy the contents of the folder into the first partition of the SDCARD (you should see Batocera-conf.conf, boot, etc.)

Since most of the known issues were fixed, I decided to release an update.
As for new features (there were requests to add different screen sizes and integer scaling), they were planned from the beginning (see the 2nd point in the "TODO") and will be implemented, eventually.

Known issues:
1) Screen tearing;
2) Menu is hard to read;
3) HDMI-out audio is not working (audio plays through the rg35xx speaker);
4) Stylus doesn't like "rolling" in different directions, e.g. Right => Right+Down => Right will stop it from moving in the "Right" direction.
Not implemented (yet):
1) Multiple screen modes/layouts and overlays support (as in the MM/MM+ version

Update install:
1. Extract the upgrade patch compressed file and obtain the "Roms" folder;
2. Copy the "Roms" folder to the root directory of the "ROMS" partition of TF 1;
3. After booting up, find the "Upgrade-V1.20230719" icon under "Console/APPS" and run it;
4. patiently wait for the upgrade to complete. After completion, the upgrade patch will be automatically deleted and will not occupy card space.

Notes:
EasyRPG libretro core for Garlic OS allows you to play EasyRPG, RPG Maker 2000 and RPG Maker 2003 games (RPG Maker XP, VX, VX Ace and MV are NOT supported!). If a game heavily relies on DynRPG there could be some issues during gameplay.

Installation: 1. Extract "CFW" folder content to the "CFW" folder on the 1st sdcard (Garlic OS sdcard, partition with ROMs), confirm overwrite. 2. Extract "BIOS" folder content to the "BIOS" folder on the sdcard with the ROMs (if ROMs are on the 2nd sdcard, then extract them to the 2nd sdcard). 3. Add new core-to-folder entry in /CFW/config/coremapping.json (Garlic OS sdcard, partition with ROMs): "EASYRPG": "easyrpg_libretro.so",

Usage: Put games into the "RomsSdCard:/Roms/EASYRPG" folder. Go to "Consoles" -> "EASYRPG" -> to open game Supported file formats: *.zip, *.easyrpg

Auto Brightness for Garlic OS
This modification allows you to automatically reduce the brightness after a specified time.

Installation:
Copy the 01-autobright.sh script to the CFW/autostart/ folder on SD Card 1.
If the autostart folder does not exist, create it.
Open the 01-autobright.sh file in your favourite text editor and make changes to the variables inside.
More details are within that script, read it carefully!
Save the file and you're done. Restart your device.
Removal
Remove the 01-autobright.sh file from the CFW/autostart/ folder.
Remove any other residual files that this mod uses.
