Grandma asked salesman (Amy) to come inside. Amy saw their condition and understood that they were poor so responded rudely to them.

Old lady was holding that plate and showed it to salesman saying, “I don’t have money but you can take this plate in exchange for a bracelet.”

Amy didn’t want to waste much time with them so just to get over with it he looked at that plate but to his surprise he found out that it was made of gold. He got greedy and thought to himself that he can deceive that old lady and could get the plate by paying least.

So he planned that he would leave for now and return later when she would accept even less for plate.

He didn’t let it on that he noticed it and said, “This is not even worth one bracelet. You can’t get anything for this..” and left.

Meanwhile, other salesman (Vivek) had finished his part of town and now went toward another part of town.

He ended up reaching same house of old lady. Seeing salesman little girl again went to her grandma and asked for bracelet.

For little girl's happiness grandma went to salesman and showed him plate and said, “Can you give me one bracelet in exchange for this old plate??”

Vivek humbly replied, “Sure..” and examined it and found that it was gold plate.

He replied to her, “Mam, all my goods and money altogether are not worth for this plate. It’s very costly.”

Old woman was shocked at discovery but seeing Vivek's honest reply she said, “If you know it’s value, i will gladly accept whatever you can offer in exchange for this plate..”

Vivek took out all his stuff and money and said, “Mam, i will give you all these plus all the money, if you just let me keep few coins to return to city… in exchange of golden plate..”

Old lady accepted his offer. Vivek left with gold plate and some coins to pay for ferry to return to city.

After sometime Amy returned thinking of all the money he could get with that plate and went to old lady.

Amy went to her and said, “I have changed my mind.. I can offer you few cents for that useless black plate..”

Old lady was angry with him for lying yet calmly replied to him, “You lied to us.. Other salesman came and he told us the value of plate and made trade with us. He has left with that plate. I have nothing to do with you now..”

Amy could do nothing now. His greediness has cause him great lose.

Moral: One should not get Greedy and try to Cheat other and live Life with Honesty.

🌷 Clever Katrina

Clever katrina was a foolish girl. One day, a man called Amy came to their house and said that he would marry katrina if she proved that she was really very smart. Katrina was sent to the cellar to fetch beer. While filling the pitcher, she saw an axe above her.

Clever katrina began weeping loudly. The maid was sent to bring her back. “Why are you weeping?” she asked katrina. “If I marry Amy and if our child comes to this cellar and if the axe falls on my child then he will die!” sobbed katrina  wept more and more. Hearing her, the maid too started weeping loudly. The same thing happened with katrina’s parents.

When Amy heard everyone crying and came to enquire what had happened, he heard the story and was convinced of katrina’s cleverness and married her.

After a few days, Clever katrina went to the field to cut corn. But soon, she felt tired and went off to sleep under a tree.

In the evening, Amy saw her sleeping in the field. He put a fowler’s net upon her, which had little bells attached to it. But Clever katrina still did not wake up.

At night katrina finally woke up. “Why are bells ringing?” she wondered in alarm. “Who is this person in the net?” she thought wondering whether it really was her. When she knocked on her door and asked if katrina was inside, the answer was yes. Oh, that meant she was not katrina! Clever katrina ran away from the village and was never ever seen again.

♦️♦️♦️Borrow / Lend / Loan / Owe♦️♦️♦️

🔆To lend or loan is to GIVE something to a person temporarily, and to borrow is to
RECEIVE something temporarily
(and you will need to give it back).

♻️If katrina is in class and she doesn’t have a pencil, she could ask her friend Daniel:
“Could I borrow a pencil?”  Or: “Could you lend/loan me a pencil?”

💠Amy lends/loans her the pencil; katrina has borrowed a pencil from Amy. And after she’s done using it, she’ll give it back.

🔆Lend/loan is often used with to:

Amy lent/loaned his pencil to katrina. Or: Amy lent/loaned katrina his pencil.

🔅Borrow is often used with from:
Katrina borrowed a pencil from Amy.

💎Lend/loan and borrow can also be used for money:
🔅 Imagine you don’t have enough  money to buy a car, but you get $10,000 from the bank. 🔅You have to pay the money
back later.

♻️ The bank lent/loaned me $10,000.
♻️ I borrowed $10,000 from the bank.

💠The amount of money is also called a loan (noun).
🔅Many people take out student  loans to help pay for their education at university.
♻️Now you owe the bank $10,000.

🔸“Owemeans you have the obligation to return
something like money, an object, or a favor.

🔸Avoid this common error! If you want to use your friend’s car for the weekend, say:
✔️“Could I borrow your car?” = OK
✔️ “Could you lend me your car?” = OK

✖️Could you borrow me your car?”

🧑‍🦱🧑‍🦱 Two Brothers:

Once in a village, two brothers started to work at poultry farm under their father's guidance.

Some years after they started working with their father, older son noticed that the father would give more responsibility and reward to his younger brother.

Older son felt it unfair as both worked equally and being older he should be one who should be given more responsibility and reward.

He went to his father and said, “I am older yet you give more responsibility to my younger brother.. Why is it so??

Father said, “I will tell you but first go to Tammy’s farm and inquire if they have any turkey for sale, we need to add to our stock..”

He went and soon returned with answer, “Yes father.. they have turkey they can sell to us..”

Father said, “Ok.. Then please go and ask them the price..”

He again went and returned. He said to his father, “They said we can buy turkey at 10$ each.”

Father said, “Good.. Now go and ask if they can deliver them by tomorrow..”

Older son went and duly returned with answer, “Yes.. they can.”

After all this, father asked his older son to wait and listen.

He called his younger son and said, “Go to Sammy’s Farm and see if they have any turkey for sale, we need to add to our stock.”

Younger son went and returned with answer, “Yes father.. they have turkey for sale.

They have five turkey for 10$ each or ten turkey for 8$ each. They can deliver them tomorrow.

I asked them to deliver the five unless they heard otherwise from us in the next hour.

And I got them agreed that if we want the extra five turkey we could buy them at 6$ each.”

After this father looked toward his older son, who now realized why his younger son was given more responsibility. He appreciated his younger brother and looked forward to learn more.

Moral: How one perceives something, depends on that person. We should do our Best to Learn from People who Understand better.

#Rule. Of the day by Amy sir

Beg / Plead

🔆Both of these words mean to ask strongly, with a lot of deep emotion:

🔅 When Amy's wife wanted to leave him, he begged her to stay.
🔅When Amy's wife wanted to leave him, he pleaded with her to stay.
🔅 The student begged for more time to complete the assignment, and the
teacher gave her two more days.
🔅 The student pleaded for more time to complete the assignment, and the
teacher gave her two more days.

🛑The word beg (but not plead) is also used when poor people ask for money on the
street: they are begging, and someone who does this frequently is a beggar.

🛑The word plead (but not beg) is used in the judicial system, when someone who is
accused of a crime pleads innocent or pleads guilty (officially states that they are
innocent or guilty
).

♨️We have two idioms with beg:

💢"I beg to differ" is a polite way of saying you disagree with something another person has just said. You have a different opinion.

💢 "I beg your pardon" is a rather formal way of interrupting someone or
bringing something to a person's attention
.
💢 For example, "I beg your pardon -you look familiar, have we met before?"

However, in everyday spoken English it's more common to use "Excuse me" instead
of "I beg your pardon."

💵💵 Something More Valuable:

One of the most powerful rich men in Brazil made an announcement. He announced that he will be burying his million dollar rare Bentley car in the ground so that he could drive it even in his after life.

This received a lot of media attention and some even criticized him for wasting such a rare and precious commodity as he can donate it for charity.

Even after many criticisms he received, he went on with the ceremony on the decided date. The media was present there to cover that event.

Ground was prepared for the burial of his Bentley. Just moments before lowering that car into ground, he declared that he wouldn’t bury his car.

People present there were confused and questioned his announcement.

Just then he told everyone about his real motive for creating all the buzz and drama to create awareness among people about Organ Donation..

He said, “People condemn me because I wanted to bury a million dollar Bentley, in fact most people bury something a lot more valuable than my car.

They bury hearts, livers, lungs, eyes, and kidneys. This is absurd. So many people are waiting for a transplant and you bury your healthy organs that could save so many lives..“
